Hmm I guess that works too. I'm usually positioned on a further distance so it would prob take me more effort to drag myself between each cast to move over to stack rather than moving out (used sprint plus usually getting a proc during charge, plus boss takes considerably long to move back to position and that tailswipe thing so there's time to move between casts without wasting uptime, at least for me).

Good reminder, I've seen my old team's BLM did that once and I laughed lol (although it was in P1, he flew through the barofield).

I use this ability constantly, especially in T13. Its great for Giga's and RoB, plus it makes my raid team freak out all the time, so thats a plus. Just the other day was farming T13. Got earth shaker in the final phase wasn't paying attention and cornered my self with no where to run after 3rd drop. Timed AM right, dropped it and took no damage from the puddle.

I use it pretty often. Lots of cases where I would rather be where another player is standing, to avoid mechanics or group up. It's rarely required, but it saves time on a job that's all about saving time.

Random example, in Keeper of the Lake I'll use it to get away from a fire patch with only a very brief pause in dps.

AM is pretty much the best thing that can happen to BLM,being that the classes only weakness is movement, learning to use it correctly and using it often is key to maximizing your dps,as for the macros,i have found this one to be great, what ti basically does is try to teleport to the mouse-over target,if you don't target anyone it teleports to focus target, making it a great OH fudge button.

I almost never use this except to try to catch up to a tank advancing quickly in a dungeon. For anything else it's almost always faster and safer for me just to sprint and move normally.

It would see more use for me if it could be freely targeted, but having to locate a target to use it on, shift to that target, use it, and then shift back to targeting the enemy is no bueno.

Then you are missing out on casts, quite a lot.

If you have to move a long distance via sprint you might have to scathe up to 2 times where you could just cast-AM-cast with your only loss in downtime during the AM animation.

I'm pretty sure I miss out on more casting time doing everything I described above.

    If you don't, then great.
