No thank you. I know I personally don't want to join someone's PF and then find several people trolling in low level gear.

I think that one reason the ilvl requirements still apply to premades (and should continue to) is so people can't sell carries+loot to i45 newbies in AF1 gear who bought their gil via RMT.
(The links below are sadly outdated. I hope to get around to updating things at some point.)

There'll be higher odds of people in DF bloating their iLvl with wrong-job accessories and then switching once inside.
At least we can still change gear when in an instance so the same applies to trying to squeeze in lower-iLvl classes in on premades.

Crit is like the bread and butter of BRD, though. Most consider the DEX from ilvl increases as a grain of salt compared to going from 30 crit to skill speed, etc. Especially Bloodletter relies so heavily on it to proc.

Yeah. Mine was a direct reply to allowing people to enter in level 1 gear. There's a point at which it becomes silly. xD

No, I don't 'have' to, but I do it anyway. There were 8-9 of us who wanted to get together and do the thing, as an FC, because we tend to do things for fun and enough of us were interested. For that to work, well, we had one main tank, one main scholar, and six main DPS, and that meant someone had to be able to step into secondary roles. Which is what I did. I've already done the content we're working on as my main, with a variety of PF groups, and continue to do so when the opportunity arises; but on coil nights with the FC I'm needed as something else and I do it as that something else. I was also the only one who'd cleared (and in many cases even entered) the turns we started at as well, and so I taught them. I didn't have to, theoretically; there's lots of guides out there and they could have done it for themselves. But I did anyway.
I feel sorry for you if "I can help my friends out by playing in this role so I do" is something you can't wrap your head around, or that someone might actually enjoy playing as more than one class. Because you're genuinely arguing that I shouldn't play with friends because our natural class leanings don't match up. What the hell.
