Why do people always equate betraying and murdering royals/officials to ASoIF these days? This is not a new story concept invented by GRRM. Who probably knicked the theme from the War of the Roses.

Not "probably." Stark and Lannister == York and Lancaster.
I think in this case people are simply gravitating to the most popular in-genre comparison available (you'll also note most are talking about the TV series; book fans remember that the Red Wedding happened in the middle of A Storm of Swords).
I thought the same thing about the Game Thrones.
But you have been seperated from your party in some many previous Fantasy Fantasy games before, this one doesn't stick out. As usual, this will serve for character development (more nodding) and some truth searching - Ishgards knows the truth about the Ascians! ZOMG!
Actually, they are going to summon Halone. You can be certain of that. And I would call it deliciously ironic if they use Ysayle as the vessel for Halone and end up getting Zodiark.

Well six had the death of Banon and Leo and I guess Shadow and Cid if you don't save em and fourteen has killed off more then a few NPC so far some more important then others as people have pointed out. I just found it to be a lot of heads rolling at once like that I also find the crystal brave taking the adventurer HQ city they portray mor dhona to be against all the adventurers and the Domans a bit much the braves where never that strong and they said they took care of the ones that where not on there side so it would be a divided force at best also the only ones helping in the step of faith attack I would expect them too weak to pull this off. I am now thinking and hoping as people are pointing it out that the scions may not all be dead since the "death" scene cut off and you don't see them lying dead... but they did show the General still alive in jail and nothing of the rest of em... I guess I will have to wait for the expansion to come out to know![]()
Well because I never read that book/books but yes I agree betrayals have been happening forever in stories they are as old as the bible o.O Personally it reminded me of GOT since its a banquet style plus the amount of death/backstabbing and the absolute no help you receive from your honored allies who just drop you when it becomes inconvenient for them xD Also given the popularity of the show I gathered people would get the comparison even if they aren't readers ^_^

I guess I will have to wait for the expansion to come out to knowfor a SNES game under Nintendo's notorious heavy-handed approach to censorship it was still very dark territory Square went to, which is the point I was trying to make with my previous post. SE have done plenty of plot twists in their games like the ending to 2.55 - the overhyped TV adaption of G.R.R Martin's retirement fund has nothing to do with it.the end of the world halfway through the game and the player's party being broken up and scattered, and the character the narrative concentrates on (Celes), is so demoralized by what happened, that when Cid dies it's the last straw and she actually tries to commit suicide - to say nothing of having to then spend most of the rest of the game travelling all over the world just to rebuild your party, and even then, it's difficult as so many party members lost any further will to fight
If you enjoy the televised version you should read the books. As there is a few "huh?" moments in what they have changed for the TV ^_^ Not a spoiler par se, but the new season has a MASSIVE change.Well because I never read that book/books but yes I agree betrayals have been happening forever in stories they are as old as the bible o.O Personally it reminded me of GOT since its a banquet style plus the amount of death/backstabbing and the absolute no help you receive from your honored allies who just drop you when it becomes inconvenient for them xD Also given the popularity of the show I gathered people would get the comparison even if they aren't readers ^_^
Yes I read the game of throne books and loved them aside from the fact it takes him nine years to release the next book haha ^_^ I was referring to the comment about War of roses doing that theme prior that book or books I did not read![]()
You can chose to save cid by feeding him the right fishyI was actually referring to for a SNES game under Nintendo's notorious heavy-handed approach to censorship it was still very dark territory Square went to, which is the point I was trying to make with my previous post.
