No iLv over 90 can help you at that point. And your sturggle going into heavensward is only gonna to get worst.
If your still ilevel 90 then you actually haven't experienced much yet. You barely have even got into WoD or hard instances. After doing that I ended up at ilevel105 at least.

You don't have much of any experience. It should be 100 at least, that way you have SOME experience.

The minimum item level for pretty much all lv50 content is really low. When they add the option to sync all party members to the minimum req in patch 3.0, it will make basic things seem like raid difficulty with having to squeeze out every drop of DPS. Think about trials like Chrysallis and Urth's Fount (Odin) where all the tanks, healers and dps are i90... o.O

I have beaten this fight numerous times, most of them queued entirely by myself. Sometimes I'll even queue for it specifically just because it's a really fun fight. And I've never wiped more than twice out of all the times I've done it. How? By asserting some leadership, telling people what their roles and responsibilities are, and calling out objectives throughout the fight.

This fight is only hard if you're lazy and expect to be carried by your gear or by other players.

If that is the case then there wouldn't be so much issues with it. Maybe you did it at the start when there were more geared players needing it. However if you indeed know your stuff, then you know how much gear actually helps. If you can't comprehend that then your not a very good tactician. Its a combination of gear, experience and skill.

I don't get it... first you seem to agree that the requirements to access Ishgard are too harsh for the newbies. Now you want to make it harder for them? The ilvl is fine as it is.

Ilvl doesn't need to be adjusted. When this first came out I watched ilvl 120+ get one-shotted.

If the damage dealers are fighting adds, and they're not on the cannons, they're doing their part wrong. If nobody uses the snares before the dragonkillers (first one doesn't have a snare, so it's moot), then the group is doing it wrong. If people are getting one-shotted because they can't be bothered to dodge AOEs or not get stepped on by Mr. Stompy, the group is doing it wrong.

The Steps of Faith isn't difficult. At all. It's a gimmick. The hard part is the players. All this needs is willingness to communicate and coordinate on the part of the players.

This fight is specifically designed to follow mechanics. Having less DPS output just means your team needs to pay more attention to mechanics and land each and every Dragonkiller as well as keep up the pain with the cannons as long as humanly possible.
There's a reason we're given those cannons, people.

Exactly.. My healer & DPS are well geared with zeta (Healer) and still can get one shotted.. it all comes down to teamwork

Early on, I, uh, may have learned the hard way to not get too close to Vishap's feet. >_>

Apparently the OP and his scant supporters don't understand clearly defined arguments so I'll just break it down to it's simplest. iL can't cure stupid. iL is not a measure of skill, it's a measure of tenacity. You can push yourself up to iL 115 without ever touching any of the truly difficult content. Square did that on purpose so those NOT running the truly difficult content can catch up to those who do. But... iL can't cure stupid. Steps of Faith can never be won... if you're stupid.
