...yeah daily quests for a token grind sounds soooo much more fun than swimsuits/emote minigame and fireworks.

Seasonal Events are meant to be able to be done by anyone crafter/gatherer/new player alike, and are mere distractions. I think this is the best seasonal event by far in FFXIV (the bells were just stupid). I'd rather not have them produce useful (needed) gear beyond the event/novelty factor because not everyone likes to do this kind of stuff, and I don't want to feel like I am missing out on something if I am doing something more productive/not online to do the event during its time. There were a few seasonal rewards like in the past in XI I think maybe, one of which I did not get and I always regretted it (maybe I'm thinking of a different game), seasonal events should just be fun extra little distractions not part of the overall game's itemization. That WoW event sounds absolutely terrible.

Harder to explain than actually experience since I kind of lack at explaining exactly how much more fun the events are, you could problem youtube any of the events and tell by watching them that they are 100 times more thought out than any holiday event on FFXI or XIV.

how about you do some research and stop being lazy, so you can enjoy these events, I enjoy them and I live in Texas.....

Being lazy? I lived in Japan for over a month and I understand and know their culture and actually planning to go into Japanese linguistics in the very near future. My point was that they tend to be more fun to the Japanese players and they should look into developing some of their events to be a bit more westernized since majority of their players are from either Europe or US.

what u may consider a fun holiday event is not fun for someone else. SE doesn't cater to individuals, im sorry.

Majority of the people I know think the the holiday events suck compared to other games or just in general but also majority of those people never log onto the forums on the Lodestone. I bring this up because I am one of the many who do and thought it would be a good idea to post here, this was not supposed to be a flame thread yet it is already starting to turn into one.
