Filler Fantasy XIV: The Paperboy Reborn!

I love the hilariously tonedeaf argument of "this isn't a hero's work!" for complaining about the fetch quests, and it's something I see often. A hero is someone who has humility and respect for others; someone who doesn't see tasks beneath her/him and wants to help others.

Basically, a hero isn't someone whose only trait is punching things (or stabbing things or setting things on fire etc.) really really hard and only does "epic" things. If you want a game like that, they're out there. This one isn't, and I'm very glad for it.

I don't want to do that, I just want to kill heroes like you. I want to be the reason your doing fetch-quests and I want to watch you do them and laugh at your suffering as I burn your villages and take your woman.

Unfortunately, there are not games like that anymore. MMOs these days are all about being heroes and epics, not about causing other players suffering. There arn't many things like that anymore, unless you count SWTOR - which story completely separates you from anyone else.
