Did any one else notice this in the final 2.55 cutscene? (Some Spoilers inside)

I swear when Yda and Papalymo were fighting that I saw them use a FF11 style skill chain. Also, Yda has blue eyes under her mask. I think she'd look cute with out it so it's a wonder why she does. <Shrug>

And I could swear that Y'shtola cast Ultima in the Sil'dih Aqueducts (Yay I finally got to see them since I wasn't lvl 50 in 1.0) and if it wasn't Ultima then it was the God of All Holy spells. Also it seems Thancred finally took an arrow to the knee..... Just not how he expected.

No, that was simply FF14 ARR Limit Break lv 3 of Melee. Called Heaven something.

Yes, it kinda looks like Final Heaven I wasn't sure about it since in the middle of a fight, you cannot see everything as clear as during a cutescene but it is Final Heaven (and Papalymo use it because it will become monks own lvl 3 limit break starting 3.0 ^^)

If I'm correct Y'shtola was shown using a similar skill in the trailer for the arcade Dissidia. Either that or I'm remembering her using Holy.

Yda used a limit break as was mentioned above. Likely Final Heaven.

Y'shtola looked to be casting Holy with a significantly longer wind-up time.

Reason I say it looked like a skill chain was Papalymo cast a spell on Yda just before she went God Mode on the Brass Blades. So Either he cast manaward and she used Final Haven on them (Which game wise is single target but the new Monk LB may be multi target) or it was a skill chain. Heck I think skill chains were just glorified combos any way aren't they?

As for the spell, It looked like Holy bit acted a little different. Maybe that's what holy really looks like since it was in a CG Rendered Scene instead of game play.

Now that I think of it, Final Haven looks like a giant pillar of light when it goes off too. So maybe it was her using a Limit Break.

Yda definitely used some form of Final Heaven, with Papalymo throwing some sort of buff on her beforehand (some variant of FF8's Aura). Y'shtola likely channeled a signifcant amount of aether in a fashion similar to Holy - remember that she knows techniques taught to her by Louisoix, so while she's not a WHM in the strict sense of that term she can still manipulate aether to a similar effect.

That cutscene was rendered using the game engine. There were no CGI cutscenes in 2.55's finale.

Maybe she wears the mask specifically BECAUSE it makes her look less cute? So that she will be taken more seriously?

Doesn't really work cuz, you know, she's kind of a ditz, but that could be the intent.

Ultima is a plot spell, so no one can use it.

This makes sense due to the nature of white magic. Y'shtola is a CNJ, which uses the same aether manipulation techniques as WHM, just in smaller quantities (to not disrupt the balance in nature). Theoretically, if a CNJ wanted to cast Holy, it would take him/her a significantly longer time to build the necessary aether for it and would put a much larger strain on the caster's body. It was a dire situation, so she made a judgement call in order to guarantee the survival of the WoL.
