Story behind changing to Au Ra?

Story i came up for my alt was, A Lohengarde Roegadyn found her as an infant along side of her slain parents and raised her as his own. He was able to find a way (after a fashion) to glamour her to look like another race, as befitting of his race he used his cultures naming convention Silvermoon in regard to her silvery white hair. A name she kept after coming to know the truth of her culture and the reason it had to be hidden. Point being with a little thought and a small amount of creativity and it can be easily explained.

This. There isn't going to be a lore accommodating reason for EVERY single little thing you do in this game, or any MMO for that matter. Especially if it's a character redo/name change service. To expect such a thing is kind of silly, frankly.

I had a question for the live letter that they ended up not even doing the Q/A part. But our legacy mark from 1.0 how would that work with Au'Ra if Au'Ra was never in eorzea during that time. But the question was pretty much answer here you just change race you keep w/e you had with your own self lmao.

How Au'ra would start being everywhere in the game as the same as male miqo'te. They said to live in eorzea but does not come out due to not being so many of them. Now the time have change and there more males so most of them are free to walk around eorzea if they like.

Well wasn't it said from the very beginning that none o' the Adventurers are actually from Eorzea? I always thought that was the main safety net in-case they ever added new races or like the did with races that added genders to the population. For RPers that are going to switch to Au Ra I can see it as your char has always been Au Ra you just had a more elaborate costume because you didn't want to have to many questions asked and just wanted to blend in. So a few splashes o' Fantasia and boom insta-Lalafell or whatever your race is currently.

It's how I took the sudden explosion o' Fem-Roes, Male Miqote and Fem Highlanders that came out as already established people rather than total newcomers and it's how I'll see it when Au Ra start popping up.

Other than 'He' or 'She' is changed depending on your gender at the time. Racial was never even considered during story development IIRC. If you ever played White Knight Chronicles, it's essentially the same thing. Your character is just an avatar that just happens to be there. Though you technically play a bigger role than WKC's Avatar(like really...Why can't I enter the damn Knights!?)

Well some people do refer to you by name or Mr. / Ms. (Mrs. if you're married, I guess?), just never in voiced scenes for obvious reasons. While this works for most races it... doesn't, really, for miqo'te. Especially males.

I think the original question was supposed to be "how do I explain how my character became an Au Ra if I use a phial of Fantasia?" To which the answer is... magic. A wizard did it.

Fantasy world. Sex change. etc. Whatever the reason you want it to be. Just be wary it's not going to be acknowledged by anyone outside of Gender responses for obvious reasons~
