Imo it's becoming primitive to look at strategy videos for MMo fights. It would be better if they explain what to do when you get into the dungeon.

You could just, i dont know, try to learn it yourself? How do you think those guides came into existence in the first place?
I always do a blind run just to see how much i can figure out on my own, most of the time its not much, but i have figured out ways of dealing with certain mechanics that havent been mentioned in guides that work better for me and my group. Guides are not the only way to learn fights in this game.
If you are playing content that people have already made Strategies for in the DF you better have watched a video or nobody will be happy. You could just, i dont know, try to learn it yourself? How do you think those guides came into existence in the first place?

I'm not sure what you mean by "becoming primitive" but it isn't really reasonable to expect people to explain the entire strategy in a fight like this when you get into the instance. The mechanics in a lot of the Coil turns are simply too complex to give a breakdown all at once. Each phase tends to have completely different mechanics, which can make for a very confusing explanation if you're trying to go over the whole thing all at once. Sitting down to explain phase by phase eats up a significant portion of the limited amount of time that you have to complete the objective.
It's one thing to go over a few things where strategies tend to differ (placement of Bluefire and who handles Redfire in T12 is a good example) but to explain the fight in its entirety just isn't reasonable for a duty finder party.

Any game requires memorization including Bloodborne, so I really don't see an issue to the point where I'd rather not even try to beat coil. The dungeons do have more variability in them, however, and idiots can't even manage that with any coherence. I ran into a THM named Derpy Mcflerp today, who instead of using his Yoshi-given sleep spell when the tank was dcing mid pull to sleep the horde, kept running around in circles with mobs chasing him instead. Something tells me that if most people can't handle higher level memorization then making coil with even more variability would just make them even angrier.
Personally I wish they released another harder FCOB till 3.0, but oh well.

This is rather important. One of the static groups in my FC has mentioned that my static has "interesting" ways of dealing with mechanics. This is due to us usually challenging things first day, finding something that a guide-maker didn't, and kept doing it.You could just, i dont know, try to learn it yourself? How do you think those guides came into existence in the first place?

I understand how the OP and others feel. To be honest they need these type of mechanics in the game though. Terra Online try to do the same thing that\\'s mentioned here and they finally just made it out of that hole. With the OP idea of a game play eventually you will over power the boss and its raids thus the game becoming boring and SE loses its money. Though again I see why the author of this post feel that way. It\\'s less creative when you\\'re playing the Cupid shuffle 24/7. Now you have to watch vids or it\\'s auto kicked or disbanded party. Though FFXIV and other MMO have to have these mechanics or else random party wipe skills will prove to much. Not a lot of people think fast on their feet. And no dodge will system will lead to people quitting because it\\'s to much. And what makes this worst people lack patients. You see these comments posted taking this thread as a joke. Honestly this may not be the game for you in the long run. I don\\'t see this style of play leaving.
Even when progressing you take it one step at a time, one mechanic at a time, then the whole phase before moving onto the next when you have the previous phase down.First tries on a phase are to see the mechanics, irrespective of watching a video/reading a guide as guides give you a certain understanding but actual experience trains muscle memory.
Who should? The game? It already does if you pay attention to telegraphs, emotes and debuff descriptions. The players? Why? Those who are willing to give indepth descriptions of what to do, already do, many of them are clear and concise and freely available on the internet with minimal searching. Theres a huge difference between being asked if you know how to handle X mechanic and replying "what's that?" and "Yeah, I read up/watched a video. But not 100% sure". First shows a lack of care in regards to other players whilst thinkiong they should give full attention to you. 2nd shows that you are proactive in clearing and thoughtful in regards to the other players.
You cannot expect others to put in the effort if you, yourself are unwilling to show initiative and motivation. When you join a party you are part of a team, doesn't matter if it's PF, DF or whatever, more effort you put in, the higher chance of success. Don't expect others to do the groundwork for you. That is just being selfish and not a team player.

I'll be totally honest:
While I don't have fights memorized, I do have the mechanics memorized, but only as the mechanics are happening. I simply have a talent to where I react to what's happening.
If we use T9 for example, I do NOT know when Heavensfall is about to happen. I just know when I see Nael's cast bar, I move to the safe zone.
The only thing that does bother me with Coil is the enrage timers. Nothing makes me more sad when everyone in the group know the fight but can't win because of our low dps. People can stay alive, people know mechanics, but a lot of failures are due to enrage.
