Why I have no interest in Coils more specifically, T9.

All I can say to you is, hammer those PF's. You'll fail a lot, you really will, but eventually you will get that group that you clear with, your friends list will fill up with people who performed well and you keep in touch, asking them to go into runs with you again, before you know it you're in linkshells with others who you know perform well, and then you realise you're in end game raiding, you're clearing content and you have contacts to play with.

If you want it, go for it, dive in headfirst and be ready to fail, it makes success all the more sweeter.

What he said. Also, try to be social in general. Join linkshells of all kinds, not just those dedicated to endgame raiding. My membership in my static actually came from a social linkshell; myself and my static leader both happened to be in it, but hadn't really made each other's acquaintance until they were looking for a tank to replace one who had less than stellar attendance. I didn't have my T5 clear, so they helped me with that and we went on to T6. The rest is history. :3

I would strongly recommended soliciting yourself in PF groups. Chances are there are others in the exact same situation as you. From there, set up a LS and start to invite these same players. You should be able to get a good pool of talent this way.

Don't be surprised if an actual static develops from players in this LS. Plus you'll have a ready to go list of alternates in case someone can't make a particular raid time. I've done something like this several times and it has worked wonders.

You're at the point where you can make Party Finders for Learning/Clear runs, and honestly that's how I do it most of the time. I get an itching to run and I just sort of try to get people to come along. After so long if you have a strong voice and lead well people start to remember you. It sounds daunting at first, but once you build a reputation some people will jump in on the basis that they see your name leading it.

You'll hit a turning point, I can tell you exactly when this point will be.

You'll have built up a decent friends list, be in linkshells and have cleared certain things, and then, you'll get that /tell from that guy you cleared T9 with, he'll be like, 'hey we're doing T10 wanna come?' and you know right then, you're not only asking others for groups, they're asking you, you've performed well and they want YOU.

Just wanted to chime in on the parts where people are asking for different kinds of mechanics.

While I would love to see more variety (not to say I don't like what I've seen so far, I love the raids and was beyond ecstatic when I cleared T9) it is going to be a hard thing to do with the current class design.

We don't have the utility that would allow for more complex strategies that aren't a matter of being here for this or die.

The development team so far have shown pretty firmly what they want the classes to be like and while they are very well balanced I don't suspect we'll ever see something as potent as say EQ Enchanters or Monk split pulls or anything like that. So we work within the framework of what we have currently.

Also, the last few posters above totally nailed it on the head why this content is so much fun for those of us who have an interest in doing it.

While you might know the pattern something will inevitably happen to put things out of whack and then it's up to you to figure out how to recover with the tools you have and the skill you have developed.

Reading a strat is one thing; doing it is another entirely.

Ugh... Why don't people intelligently think through things before posting things like this. What do you want? A completely unpredictable boss battle on the difficulty setting of coil? It would be unbeatable. Like, its not even a "well, if you are skilled and can react fast blahdy blah blah" no. It is simply unbeatable, no one would ever beat it if they can not strategize because they can't know what is coming. In every MMO. Every. Single. One. Bosses go on a pattern and by phases, so... welcome to MMOs I guess. I am assuming this is your first one.

If an MMO was to use completely random boss attack patterns each time, each attack would need to have a very long cast time so people could actually place themselves or whatever they have to do to react to it, which would just make the fight boring and dumb.

The OP seemed to be made without understanding how games work at all. So, its just a no.
