1/2 of the game is gear progression and the other is cosmetic. It's old content and in just a few months will probably be dead content. As indicated it would take minimum of 3 weeks for 1 and 3 months for all 4. I just don't want to never got at least one and I know I'm not the only 1.

As long as people want the shiny Kirin mount, it'll never be dead content.

There not rare are hard to get any more I would just like another method instead of never being able to get 1

But they aren't hard to obtain, the only thing that makes them hard to get is lotting vs 7 other people, i have seen quite enough of them to know that they are no where near rare. it's just rare to win one. especially if you are on a server where even winning primal fights without massive wipes is rare in it self.

I think ppl will do the old 3 Primals even more with a token system in place. Just seems ridiculous to do over 100 runs and still not get 1. This leave players who didn't get the mount defeated and while the one that won is unmotivated to continue. Also it is really difficult to get ppl to do Old Content to begin with. Hell look at the New Odin Fight. It was popular for about 2 weeks now no one is doing it so good luck ever getting any. A token system for the old 4 Primal Mounts would get players interested in doing the Old 3 Primals Again.

Or just give up. There will be better mounts in expansion anyways. I given up when I saw 12 ponies get rolled away from me because RNGesus hates me and gives me rolls below 50 for pony mounts.

I suggest don't try to grind it and don't make an effort specifically for pony drops. It'll be like, 80% disappointment and 20% celebration (that you finally got the bloody thing rather than happy you got it) or 100% disappointment when you don't win a pony after a whole day of primal grinding.

I just run primals EX for other reasons, like weapons or helping someone pass it. Pony drops are a bonus, but I'm super pessimistic on my chances of winning them.
