I thought 1-30 was the boring part of the leveling process.
The story and gameplay gets much better post 30.

I hoped for the jobs starting at level 99

Remember, it's a job, not a class. When do you unlock jobs? Level 30 right? So it makes sense they start at 30.

TBH, this argument is standing on wobbly legs until we're shown you can just lob a job crystal on any currently existing class and call it a day. Not disagreeing with you, but it's a fairly weak argument overall since these jobs are probably going to have their own separate slot.

The biggest problem isn't where the new jobs start, experience-wise.. it's that none of the new zones are level 30+, so you'll be leveling the new jobs via old content. Anytime new classes/jobs are introduced with new zones, they need to add new/more level-appropriate content in the new zones for those new jobs.
so since you start at lvl 30. do you get 5-6 skills and traits / cross-class skills right away once you turn into the new jobs?
will they just be like "congrats on being MCH/DRK/AST, heres 5-6 skills/traits. good luck figuring it out"
Considering you'll have reached the end of the story-line on a different class, one would hope the player could handle learning a new class pretty quickly.
Besides, who's to say we don't go through a sort of tutorial for the class before we get thrown into the duty finder? I would assume the level 30 job class quest will put us through the motions of our abilities and what they do.
MCH/DRK/AST will be like how 1.0 players came into ARR with their already Lv. 50 Jobs with revamped abilities. Not hard to read/learn, this game is easy.

Skilled players can read the tool tips on the abilities and figure it out. Just like how everyone who was legacy started with everything at 50 when ARR came out with all the abilities changed from 1.0.
1-30 doesn't teach you how to play a class at end game since its mostly hitting 1-2 combo over and over.

Comparing them to base classes that start at 1 isn't a very strong argument either. These 3 new jobs are something new to the entire class/job system currently in the game.TBH, this argument is standing on wobbly legs until we're shown you can just lob a job crystal on any currently existing class and call it a day. Not disagreeing with you, but it's a fairly weak argument overall since these jobs are probably going to have their own separate slot.
