This mentality is what keeps this game one of the worst as far as gold spammers go, and if you think new players aren't put off by the incessant spam think again. Other games have proved restricting chat works very well. That is a fact. SE simply does not care to solve the problem. It's shameful. They don't even have a right click report feature.

last i played it the chat restriction was level 20 iirc, someone could probably check if this information is still working.

There have been dozens of forum threads with many suggestions of changes that could be made (QoL and otherwise) to mitigate and reduce spam, though I'm not aware of any official responses as to any specific changes that might be implemented.

I'm pretty sure that single-click to blist/report the spam message would not hurt.

With so many people on /busy, we're definitely seeing more /shout spam on our server in every city, as well as "you have received a friend request from spambot'com gilseller."

I'm really not looking forward to linkshell invitation spam.
