Voidal Resonator should be a flying mount.

I don't know if the flying fat chocobo will be a thing it seemed more like Yoshida-san was just having a laugh about it . There might be a different ahriman for a flying mount to, like the ahriman boss in WoD. They might make a different breed for the flying mount much like the black chocobo is a different breed to the regular chocobo ^^.

I don't see why they would need to make a new Ahriman

The mount is just an Ahriman and the Voidal Resonator is the item that is used unlock the mount like a Chocobo Whistle is used so you can unlock Chocobo mounts.

As for the Black Chocobos, two things. First they existed in the series before and the whole point of them was that they could fly, therefore allowing the player to reach new areas, so them flying in the expansion is par for the course. Second, pretty sure they will not be a mount that you acquire via the story like your Chocobo companion, as that will be a certain story related dragon. If you look at all the pics and videos of them they appear to be wearing something akin to the Chocobo Porters, so I'm pretty sure that is what they will be, flying Chocobo Porters and not a standard mount.

Our current one wont be. Reason will be that it isn't bred for flying or something. We already have different racing & combat chocobos. We'll be getting a black chocobo that can fly though.



On the subject of the Magitek mount, it'd be cool if Garlond Ironworks upgraded it at some point in 3.x with some thrusters or a jet engine. :3

Bomb Palanquin being a flying mount? Even if it looks incredibly lofty and haughty when I ride it... Hell yes.

I'm so Happy Ahriman will be able to fly! Even though its not right on 3.0 release it will be worth the wait!
