Voidal Resonator should be a flying mount.

The 90 day veteran reward, the voidal resonator, is already flying anyway.



It stands to reason that this particular mount should get an upgrade and be transformed into a flying mount come heavensward.

Thoughts?

Well, in a recent patch they clarified each mounts means of locomotion and the ahriman was listed as aerial. Given that, chances are actually rather high that it is going to be able to fly in the Heavensward areas.

I doubt that existing mounts will fly in Heavensward, it would take away from the value of the new mounts in 3.0 to have any 2.0 mounts able to fly.

Also, IIRC they clarified the resonator's 'flight' capability suggesting that it uses it's legs to hop/jump and flappy wings to stay aloft, but cannot attain any altitude because it's more of a 'puddle jumper' rather than a soaring flier.

I like the idea of Aerial mounts being flying mounts. It makes sense. Besides, I'd love to be able to soar the skies in my Bomb Palanquin.

I suppose it could be. That flying eyeball pales in comparison to soaring dragons, majestic gryphons, magitek airships though........ and flying unicorns that fart rainbows in the sky.

It doesn't really take away from anything. I mean, the floral goobbue didn't do anything to the minstrel goobbue no matter how much the jerk Legacy players made it out to be. And noone cared that the 500 commendation reward was a gold pope-mobile... I mean reaper... Point is, the special mounts for preordering Heavensward will still be special, no matter how many flying mounts you have prior.

No, the chocobos are likely landbound, making the black chocobo you see in the trailers something of an aberration. And even more abusive than the fat chocobo and it's ghysal bait, look how much he's having to flap those wings. T,T

Our current one wont be. Reason will be that it isn't bred for flying or something. We already have different racing & combat chocobos. We'll be getting a black chocobo that can fly though.

On the subject of the Magitek mount, it'd be cool if Garlond Ironworks upgraded it at some point in 3.x with some thrusters or a jet engine. :3
