More about things that happen in the last part of 2.55
We don't know for sure what happened with Nanamo. The Monetarists wouldn't want Nanamo to be able to abdicate the power and let another type of government not controlled by them be established, so there's the reason for her being poisoned before she does it.
Letting her be alive but controlled might be useful for Lolorito and company to keep things under control faking the Sultana is on their side. It's a bit weird Nanamo had a plan to leave the power without a plan of having established how things would go later, and without at least some key people knowing the plan and having it all established. Foreign powers and the Warrior of Light are not the ones to make that plan happen. Why didn't she have a well established plan of transition to a new order? (Which would mean at least some powerful people inside Ul Dah know of her plan.)
I have watched the cutscenes again and think probably Nanamo is dead, but everything is open yet. I think most probably Yda and Papalimo are alive but captured. Supposedly Yshtola and Thancred were going to die with the tunnel falling over them but it is not completely sure. Why Minfilia goes back is still a mystery. We are supposed to think she goes back to sacrifice herself so that the Warrior of Light can escape and there is a light of hope since he is alive, but it's also open (why should she go back just to be killed?), it might be she goes back to save the others. The content of the message she received from Hyadelin is a mystery now.
I also saw Urianger's scene again and it is meant for us to think he is betraying us, or at least has his own agenda. But it is open to make it finally be otherwise.
Characters to be there for sure: Tataru (maybe evil?) and Urianger (maybe a traitor?), Alphinaud and Alisaie, Cid (a real rock always there for us), Pippin, the new force on our side in Ul Dah. And Lord Manderville.
The Ascians seem to have a lot of power in Ishgard's highest instances. Mirgardsorm warns we will only find ugly nasty things there (probably biased opinion, really.) We don't seem to have a lot of friends in Ishgard for now, but one of the big houses is on our side at least.
We have still a big character in Ul Dah that has not appeared: Lord Manderville. He is member of the Syndicate, powerful, and on our side, and should have been informed of Nanamo's plan and been part of it, probably. And he is not supposedly dead nor in prison. I think he will be part of the solution to Ul Dah's political situation.
If things in 3.0 are going to happen mainly in Ishgard, I wonder if Ul Dah matters will be left on standby until a future that is not near for us, players in real world. I hope not : )
