This. Fishing was so much better in 1.0.

Atleast in 1.0 you could kinda target fish depending on depth. and you could also wear down the fish once you got a bite.

You basically just walked up to a small pond or water hole, and used a spear to catch a fish. It was quick but fun.

More Seafood Recipes would be Great. Additionally, the following:

• Fish Tanks
• Fish Ponds
• More Stuffed varieties Fish for the Wall

basically, we could have 2 kinds of fish: Display fish for the home, and edible fish. Obviously there's the weird Glue/special ingredient fish, but I'm just talknig about generic repeatable reasons to go fishing more frequently.

I miss my militia gig so much some days. I'm happy I got the La Noscea spearfishing title before it was all taken out, it's easily the prettiest title in the game.

A friend of mine showed me some videos he took of me fishing at the waterfall in Riversmeet and I actually teared up a bit. Watching the video and the jig pattern, I can still tell exactly what fish I was catching in the video. Good memories...

It was part of the gathering system with bot/min/fsh. You would get shards/crystals depending on the level of area you were getting items from along with the item itself. Most of the fish were used in alchemy recipes as well to turn into shards/crystals.

Shards, dark matter, and catalysts for melding. Like Malakai said, the fish could also be turned into shards and crystals with Alchemy. You could always see a million fish bots at Vesper Bay fishing up black sole.

Fishing pretty fun actually, for the first 10 minutes. Then I get drowsy after that.

1.0 fishing seems great compared to 2.0 snooze fest where u can technicallly just press 1 & 2 or 3 buttons to catch a fish. Everything else is weather and rng based. Where's the skill? There is none.
Also the fact that fisher "still" does not have a damn offhand tool is like wtf. Its not a warrior ( easily understandable ) its a damn fisher tht can easily have a tackle box or a fishing net/ spear or something.
This totally was rushed and made as a last attempt to make fisher happen in 2.0
If 3.0 still doesn't introduce an off hand for it, then its safe to say SE doesn't give a damn about it lol.
