Fsh may not be as lucrative as the others you mentioned, like cul and gsm. But there's still plenty of gil to be made if you know it well enough.
I set my retainer to bring back good selling mats every hour; Blacklip Oyster, Silver Sharks, and Red Coral.

While my retainers doing that i can go and fish up some bigger money makers. My favorite hole can pretty easily yield a fish that sells for 20k a piece on my server, around 30k for hq. I don't want to give away too many trade secrets.. although many good fishers already farm what i'm referring to. (This fish has a new groove)

Its pretty much an after thought was most evident in 2.0 before all the major patches. Most fish are junk and SE is only adding rare minions to make it desirable for people.
