If you believe that then you have not studied the gaming industry. Expansion have two primary goals: retain your player base and attract new players.How? Because you yourself said that there is nothing at all for new players if you take away the expansions content. That means the new players you are talking about are not interested in the current game. Why would they suddenly become really interested?
Are you trying to make a list just for the sake of it? Because your points 1 and 2 have nothing to do with players looking to get the game just for the expansion.
But you missed the point entirely, I see. Expansions are not for new players, they are for those that already played the base game.
