Ok.. but that's the thing. I consider Dark/Demon Souls to be my favorite games and they rely HEAVILY on recognizing boss patterns and nearly always require multiple wipes before clearing. Sound familiar?
W/ Turn 9, if you get to Heavensfall and wipe, it would be real nice if you could just start right back at the start of the Heavensfall phase, and not have to do the dumb meteors>golems>meteors>golems phase again.
Right now, I feel the only way I'm ever going to beat Turn 9 is to pay my way through. And I *REALLY* do not want to have to resort to that. Most people who've beat Turn 9 don't have a desire to go back and help players still less than familiar w/ the fight. Turn 9 is designed in such a way that one player making one simple mistake will wipe the group. I assume even groups who are experienced w/ multiple turn 9 wins will still wipe as often as earning a win.
And calling a legitimate post a "troll post" is as bad as trolling.
You mean getting marked with Meteor and Thermionic beam at the same? People wouldn't even bother with such a poorly designed fight...

But they dont follow a pattern. Paarl doesnt AOE left swipe right swipe then repeat. Theyre all dynamic fights and in your face that still boil down to reflexes. And even if you wipe, its not because you dropped ameteor in the wrong spot or something, its because you didnt dodge at the right time or wasnt quick enough. Thats the difference. Those games still boil down to reflexes. Coil is just memorization. When I die in a souls game, ive never said "where what the hell was I supposed to do with the target debuff?" or "Well how was I supposed to know where to drop that?" Its always "Dammit I dodged way too soon/late." or "I got way too greedy with damage."

Bloodborne and xiv are completely different styles of play....it's like saying I don't like PvP because it doesn't incorporate COD-style first person shooter gameplay...
You don't enjoy learning mechanics or how to deal with them and therefore don't want to do coil. That's fine.
But you really can't turn around and say "I deserve to oneshot everything, wiping and learning how to do a fight isn't challenging" (Literally paraphrased from your OP) then say you want this game to be like Bloodborne. It just sounds like you fundamentally don't enjoy ffxiv combat. Which again, everyone's entitled to their own opinion.
If everything was reflex-based dodging in this game content would get pretty stale pretty damn fast. Players in xiv only have so many limited movement mechanics, fights would always be like Titan or the last boss of Stone Vigil HM.
World of Darkness is exactly the same as coil in the sense "learn how the mechanic works then learn how to deal with it" it just happens that the mechanics give you significantly more time and are just significantly easier to deal with compared to coil.
bloodborne is a different game, I'm familiar with both and respect the differences of those kinds of games and this one. They both have different mechanics and if you bring bloodborne mechanics here, it's not gonna work or you'll have to completely change how this game works. T9 is a team oriented game. If you screw up, especially if you're a tank, it's done. If you can't do t9 then just don't do it. Honestly, it's just simple coordination.
Nah, we still have the most OP content of them all to deal with. Even saying it's name strikes fear into the hearts of many...... which is called, 'Lag' XDIf everything was reflex-based dodging in this game content would get pretty stale pretty damn fast.
Unfortunately gameplay/ boss design like Bloodborne would not work for a game like FF14 people can hardly do T9 or fCoB if you added random attack patterns omg lol that would be funny shit to see xD (just imagine double ravens beak lmao)

I've been avoiding all of coil as well. Reason being is I Don't have a static group to run it with therefore I don't know the fights so I'm in that boat where people wont play it with you if you dont have experience yet I cant get experience cause no one will run it with me. I watch vids and have a good idea on how they work but I need a few rough go throughs to get the swing of things. Because I'm honest and say outright that I have not yet completed it, people insta drop and party breaks up, or I get vote dismissed. I'm not a terrible player and pick things up quickly when given half a chance but with the players mentality in the high tier stuff, theres no point in even trying.
I was very happy to hear that Alexander will have two modes, one for people like me who just want to run it for the story and another for the hardcore endgamers who want a better challenge and better rewards. I hope the same will come to BCOB but i'm not holding my breath. Since I've been here from 1.0 I would really love to experience the story in there, first hand rather than through YouTube vids.
You misunderstand. Coil is about doing mechanics that are vague. Nothing in Bloodborne boss fights is vague. A boss doesnt apply a debuff that gives a very vague description. An example of being required to wipe in coil are the golems and meteors and the lighting in fire out (or whatever it was). Thats what I mean by needing to die to learn the boss because your group will likely die if its a blind run. Bloodborne is simple but still a challenge. Dodge the boss attacks. You dont need to study a guide for a very specific attack or a random tether that could wipe the whole group if not dealt with.
