After this, I've wondered why we never got a mixed option for chargen. The most popular option there was basically catpeople... which we have... with mixed coming in second.

And, I don't know. Even if there's some social stigmas (like in real life), I have a hard time thinking racial mixing wouldn't happen (a la RL again...). Unless we're all more accurately different species and mixed heritage is a biological impossibility, anyway.

Well, there's plenty of male lalafells who woo hyur/miqo'te females. So I should think it's possible. Somehow.. I've still yet to see any woo roes though.

I would be more curious to know how Miqo'te-anything would be done. With most racial mixes, it would just be a matter at meeting halfway with the proportions or other things. e.g., half elf, ears that aren't quite hyur but aren't quite knife ears either. OTOH, with Miqo'te, you've either got the cat ears or you don't, not so simple a matter of going halfway....

Interracial relations certainly do exist--there are lalas that skirtchase after hyur and miqo'te girls.

The biology behind some race combinations would certainly be rather complex. I can imagine that most handling children would be born dead (or born with some major disability) because of how different their parents' body structure is. However, SE might take the usual fantasy route of humans being the most compatible with all races.

If halfling children were possible for all races, well consider all those miqo'te prostitutes in Ul'dah and Limsa ... One night with a roe and she's giving birth to a tail-less furred monster a few months down the road. If there aren't homebrew techniques to prevent that.

They only talk about getting in trouble because of the interracial relationship. They don't bring any attention to the same-sex relationship at all.

Then again, there is a Hyur in the Gold Saucer entrance hall referring to a Roegadyn as his father so unless he isn't his biological father it's possible actual hybrids are not a thing... at least not physically.

Or, as with genetics, there's a chance that the offspring may be pure of either parent's race, or a hybrid.
