speed tests:
chicago 104down / 6 up
dallas 96down / 5 up
San Fran 48down / 4up
NY 78down / 5up
connection seems fine. able to connect to anything i want. and large packet transfers are fine.
only issue is connecting through the game to the home data center of my character. other data centers loading correctly
Same problems here.
On charter internet as well, about 3 hours west of Saint Louis, MO. Internet connection is fine for everything else.
All Data Centers work except for Aether.
I've been on Aether for the last 30 min with no issues. no lag. zone loading rapidly. still unable to connect to Primal, my home data center
Giving Square Tech Support another call.

Well now they know it might be a regional issue. They know about this thread now.
Certainly something strange going on since I was able to log into Primal and create a character with no issues. But I am unable to access my home data-center at all.
Same here. Home is Primal, can connect to others but the connection is always poor.
I live just 15 minutes east of St. Louis, using Charter. My internet's fine, as I've tried loading up other games. Something about this game isn't talking nicely to St. Louis Charter.
Still having issues ONLY with connecting to the Primal Data Center
so far I have
Reset Router, and Modem
set an internal static ip address and forwarded ports

to the PC.
I used PortForward Network Utilities to verify the ports were open on the PC
Contacted Charter Communications to verify they were having no known issues
I am able to connect to other services including but not limited to: Hulu, HBOgo, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Battle.net, ESO, Wildstar, Origin, Steam, Star Wars: The Old Rebuplic, iTunes, Ventrilo
The route seems to be failing somewhere in Montreal, Canada. Getting a time out error/TCP Retransmission in wire-shark at IP 199.91.189.74 when i try to log in to my data-center. After some googling it seems this has been source of a lot of lag issues in the past as well.
Also tracert to neolobby02.ffxiv.com(199.91.189.74) fails miserably at hop 9.
