Part of me wonders about what Lolorito was actually expecting from all of this, because he didn't seem to happy at the end. Something must've not played into his hands properly, but considering he was reacting to the handmaiden's "It's done" comment, it can't be the PC escaping...
Unless he had a hand in that somehow, but I can't imagine *how* he would be able to.
Well... killing people who are accusing you of murder is probably not the best way to prove you're innocent
If Lolorito was behind it all along, then he is a real mastermind ! Sultana is dead, the nosy Scions are out, Raubahn went nuts and politically killed himself while removing the non-discreet Teledji... There stands Lolorito, at the top of the Syndicate, top of Ulda'h with merely Godbert as an opponent now. (Raubahn's son doesn't have his father's influence yet)
Beware of Lalafells...
Speaking of which... Didn't Tataru seem strange to you in some cutscenes ? She was with Minfillia's mother, but Yugiri didn't speak of the Miqo'te.
Anyway great finale ! I really laughed when I saw Thancred taking an arrow in the kneeand Y'shtola and her kind of "terra-holy"... Next time we have to fight a Primal, I want someone like her by my side !
I think Lolorito was behind the assassination, but I don't know if he wanted Taledji to die or Raubahn to get arrested, he didn't seem too happy about Raubahn killing Taledji perhaps he knows that he cannot rule alone, we know how much the common people hate the Syndicate, the common people would have much preferred Nanamo to rule alone rather than have the syndicate. Perhaps Lolorito knows that it will be hard to control the populace especially when they all learn of Nanamo's death. If Lolorito was behind it all along, then he is a real mastermind ! With the entire syndicate though ruling would have been much easier.
..........
I can see that you never ventured far into final coil, since he has considerate amount of involvement there. Like quite major revelation. If you're unable to progress coils, there's youtube. lol
So do we have to use the spoiler tags in this thread, considering it is marked as a place for spoilers? It sorta feels redundant but... just in case...
So did anyone else get a sick feeling as soon as your character picked up that phial? I was actually relieved when Chione showed it to Momodi, but fat lot of good that did in the end. Plot hole or intent?
This is the big problem with a story on rails. Even if you see it coming a mile away and don't care for it, you have to either keep going or stop playing. So I came away feeling mild discontent. It just don't sit well with me how useless my character was, and maybe that's how they wanted it to be, but ugh. I suppose I can take small comfort that the npcs I worried most about are confirmed survivors. My sympathies to those who's favorites are in limbo.
As for Urianger, I'm hoping that its the fella in white who's thinking to betray his boys and not our Shakespearean Elezen. Enough is enough.

so how do we use spoiler tags on here anyway
The spoiler tags are redundant. I think that applies to spoilers in other threads.
My favorite was put into limbo back in 2.5, and the musical cues told me I was supposed to be happy about never seeing him again. Because his blood took over and told him that thermonukes can also be used to warm orphanages, or something. Well, screw that!

Wait, what?
Oh, but if Minfillia tries to pull a stunt like that, then I get all protective? Not that I wanted her to go, but I do wish they wouldn't leave my character a cipher only to try and dictate my emotional state in moments like that. A little consistency wouldn't hurt, either.
Actually, it struck me how similar the CT ending was to this latest story, but I'm still not sure if that actually means anything. Guess I could always just ask Yoshi-P directly...
The handmaiden's reporting shows obvious involvement, but I think things didn't all turn out the way he wanted. Although he ends up being a benefactor of the situation, maybe he wanted something more than just Ul'dah.
It feels like this whole plot is a mix of multiple conspiracies intertwined, each independent to each other yet all acting on the same groups of people, finally culminating in much more severe escalation than each one expected.
“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.”
― Ernest Hemingway
If you saw a person with a book that shot laser balls at people, you might be singing another tune...
