We speak with the Amal'ja and provide them with masses and masses of crystals to summon Ifrit (Hyper) and they lay waste to Ul'Dah and the moneterists all to show you don't mess with the Scions without whom Ul'Dah would have been destroyed by Ifrit.

For those screaming "Who didn't see that coming!? Are you all blind!?", you MUST take into account that we, the player, are being allowed to see things that the characters themselves are not. This even goes for our own character. It would be silly and stupid for all the characters in the game itself to somehow automatically suspect all the things we suspect. Thou must learn the meaning of the art of story telling and how each character sees things individually from us viewers if thou insists on thinking it was so easy of a trap to spot.

Yeah, because it's not like we didn't see anything suspicious in the events at all...

Yep... our character totally didn't see that phial. And all the important world leaders were totally not in one place at the same time. And we totally didn't suspect anything suspicious when we were pulled away from such an important meeting to find someone who never turned up. Totally non suspicious.

But seriously, the minute I picked up that phial we KNEW something was going down. We KNEW poison was involved, we just didn't know who. My original thought was that the food at the banquet was poisoned, but even so I would have ensured that NO ONE enjoyed drink or food until the matter was resolved. But nope, my Lalafell has to be a world-class level of stupid and not inform anyone. Seriously?

I think that's one of the biggest red flags around, and if my character didn't see it coming she's as blind as a mole in sunglasses.

Also, I assume no one bothered talking to Alphinaud after the final cutscene judging by most reactions. Between that and some of the comments I've read I haven't seen for myself, the PC is basically completely safe to do whatever as usual because, between your heroism to the masses and the need to not have Ul'dah break out into a massive war zone, no one is actually going to do anything to you specifically.

Alphinaud's not so lucky, though.

Also, while understandable that they did, I'm amused they listed Louisoix's VA in the credits. Being only up to T8, I hadn't known we actually got to hear him talk.

I totally agree with you. I mean,

We never told Aulphinaud (however you spell his name) that there were suspects of traitors in the ranks? I mean... he had NO IDEA... We did... we suspected... and we said... NOTHING?! I mean... maybe we have no names to give but it's something worth saying, you know?
As soon as I saw the vial... and Nanamo told us about her plans... I was screaming... don't you dare let her drink that wine.

WHY THE HELL CAN'T OUR CHARACTER GET ANGRY?! I have never seen our character get angry and fight for themselves. I don't mean go berserk like Rauban, but for the love of god at least we could grow a backbone we're supposed to be a hero and we let people push us around! Are we really just errand boys for the plot NPCs? If this continues man, I feel like I'm going to just skip all the cutscenes and do the content that I like because the story doesn't reflect the way *I* feel I should be reacting.

And seriously... I'm a white mage. Why couldn't I raise her? =p (I am somewhat joking here.)

I can't help but assume that we don't fight because, amongst other things, people wielding books aren't actually all that terrifying.

And I don't know about you, but my AoE isn't exactly stellar for taking people out fast.

Betrayal from an unlikely quarter; theories.

When the vial was revealed to be damning evidence against us, my heart fell. Momodi was quite specific about keeping it on our person - something we would have discarded as irrelevant otherwise. As it wasn't addressed at this point, I'm presuming her betrayal will be addressed in 3.0.

Unless it's a double-bluff that Momodi and Lolorito are in on (and Kan-E-Senna/Merlwyb as Blaon highlighted above). Nanamo states she wishes to abdicate and then does so in a very subtle way. I'm pretty sure Teledji was innocent of arranging it; he seemed sincere in his denial when he didn't need to be - it was the mysterious handmaiden (shown to be in the service of Lolorito) who alerted him to the 'poisoning' after all. We were to take the fall and be imprisoned/rescued to get us out of the public eye too.

However, Nanamo didn't anticipate Raubahn losing it, killing Teledji and himself being mutilated (I'm fully expecting Raubahn to get a Garlond Ironworks arm upgrade early on in Heavensward). Perhaps she wasn't aware of issues within the Crystal Braves which came to a head as part of a separate plan by Teledji. It would explain why the other GC leaders bricked it and left.

If all this were the case, Nanamo's abdication would be less a dereliction of duties and more about going undercover to solve an issue that was plaguing her deeply that she couldn't do as Sultana. Presumably something to do with Omega Weapon? Though tbf I'm not sure on that, having completely ignored Frontlines so far.

Also, Yda will return in 3.0 and 'finally' get a new mask from Rowena. That cutscene will be cheesy as hell.
