A few /tells in the middle of a scene, sure whatever. I'm used to that now. But getting a FR from some bot in the middle of the huge string. That... THAT... irritated me.

Why change sound settings, all you gotta to do is /busy status. smh
SE, please give the "viewing cutscene" status some of the same effects as the "busy" status, so we can't get /tells or Friend requests during them. That way, getting to see them without interruption wouldn't be limited to those players who thought to adjust their settings in advance.
Thanks for the warning about this particular string of cutscenes. I'll be sure to update my settings when I get to it. But I've seen the same issue on plenty of other cutscenes too, where a cool scene (albeit a shorter one than this) keeps getting interrupted by this nonsense.

I just filled my 200 blacklist cap in less than 3 hours. Spam in city /shout has also returned to my server. At this moment, I wouldn't be surprised if 50% of all communication in this game is RMT spam. If the amount of spam being produced in this game right now were turned into energy, it could power a mid-sized city for a week. I'll bet that is what SE is doing... farming energy from gold spammers pinging the server and using it to power their office.
I wonder what a new player's first impression of the game is when they get out of the cut scenes and finally see what was causing all those annoying sounds: An ocean of RMT spam. (assuming you can receive /tells during the long opening cut scene)
I was lucky enough to not experience it when I first started playing. But if I was new today and experienced that, I would laugh hard and immediately not take the game seriously.

Yeah, it came out to about 30 minutes for me - depends on how fast you read and if you let the whole credits stream scroll. (I was afraid if I skipped something, I would have missed a part of it... so I just let it run) tbh; I felt an emptiness when it was all over and I was just left standing in that room.
Oh... and I made a comment in the other official story thread; the RMT spam ruins the story..... as others have mentioned here. Best to turn off tells or the sounds at the very least before getting to these ending scenes.
...what's up with these avatars? Did I not get that memo?!

yeah, it's pretty bad to the point that they somehow manage to send you a tell in the opening sequence...very distracting.I wonder what a new player's first impression of the game is when they get out of the cut scenes and finally see what was causing all those annoying sounds: An ocean of RMT spam. (assuming you can receive /tells during the long opening cut scene)

I'm glad I changed by status to busy when I got the message that there'll be a string of cut scenes (good thing they had that foresight)
This happened to me too. Throughout the cutscene sequence the same bot spammed me with like five friend requests. And for some stupid reason you can't get rid of or respond to the Friend Request popup until the cutscene is over?
That is some bull, Square Enix.
Fix this. Now.
Thanks for the heads-up. I'll be sure to /busy when I get there myself

RMT is almost unbearable in this game. I don't want to have to run around /busy all the time. They really need to do something about it because like the guy said earlier, it will drive potential new players away...or make them not take the game serious.
