Well I'm glad you had some good luck with it but I'd still say the majority of DF groups aren't going to beat it simply due to the fact that people often quit after a couple of wipes.
T1-T4 is easily DF-able. Everyone is overgeared, and you'll find plenty of people spiritbonding and searching for Allaghan crafting materials that would be willing to help out.
T5 you will need help for sure. I spent several months on it before I found a good group in my server's Party Finder. From here on out overgearing doesn't guarantee a win because you will face massive disables and 1hit-KO mechanics.
T6+T7 is a crapshoot, you can get lucky and win them, but there still are some clueless people out there that can ruin your day. It only takes 1 person to wipe the entire raid in T6+T7. There are multiple ways to handle T6, so I often find people arguing about how to do it in DF.
I am having difficulty beating T8 myself. Almost no one queues for it in DF, and the people that do just want to practice / watch cut scenes / try it out, with no real intention of beating it. There are a bunch of different viable strategies here too, so it's hard to get a group of strangers to agree on how to handle the towers.
T8 and up you'll probably run into serious problems trying to get the clear on DF.
T5 can be problematic too, but it kinda has Titan HM syndrome going on in the sense that it is so outgeared + Echoed nowadays that you can have quite a few members of your party die, never get raised, and still have the others carry the fight as long as you have a core "light party" at least that knows what they are doing.
Gear helps a lot, but the key wipe mechanics in turn 5 and 9 are instant death, so gear won't overpower those. For t5 the biggest killers are divebombs (somewhat) and twister (the most by far) I think. It is worth trying to DF through 5 still I reckon, but you should be going in with the mindset of having a few groups unable to beat it before getting it. T9 is a pretty big stopping block for DF, though, and where I'd say you'd be out of luck without PF.Thanks for the answers! It seems to correlate with my google searching but I was hoping to find more current and relevant answers here with things like how general ilvl proliferation affected general success from say, half a year ago.
Which I did find here, and it doesn't really seem like it affected it at all. Good to know that T5 will be my cut off point before I should commit time to FC searching. That gives me a better gist of how I'll schedule my time, certainly.
Thanks again!

Is T9 the most mechanic heavy fight in the game?
So far I would say so, my static only started about a month or so ago, and we've managed to clear a a new Final coil per week and are now focusing on t13 hoping to get it down before echo comes in, T9 however gave me far more trouble way back when than any of the FCOB turns so far.
Mechanically it has a lot going on and throws a fair amount at you and people need to be aware of their surroundings/learn the bosses rotations.
Strangely enough though, t9 is relaxing now for me, it's so scripted (and with echo) that whenever I go in to help people out I just kind of zone out as its been burned into my mind and I no longer need to think about it. Same deal with titan ex.

I'd say so, though T7 was up there before it was nerfed to hell and back. My static has progressed pretty quickly through FCoB as well; we struggled a bit on T10 at first, but some roster changes fixed that. Within a week, we'd cleared it. T11 took us about 3-4 days. T12 took just over a week. We've been on T13 about 3-4 weeks now (a week of which was almost completely lost due to people being out of town) and we wiped last night to enrage at 4%. -.-

Don't wanna detract from people discussing mechanics and stuff, but I should point out that you still need a preformed group to even queue for fcob. There's just no lockout and you don't have to be in n thanalan.
When in doubt, assume sarcasm
