Roughly Which Bahamut Raid Requires A Premade Group?

Just a quick question. I was hoping more experienced players of 2.5 and previous patches could tell me or recommend which turn of Bahamut is best done with a premade group. I know that all group content is usually better done with a premade however I don't have a premade group and not a lot of time to commit to free company or progression group searching.

Another way to put the question basically is, what is reasonably manageable in a duty finder group? Assuming an moderately communicative duty finder group.

T5, T9 and T10+ should have a premade group, you might get lucky in DF with T5 but probably not. The rest can be done in DF but will have a higher fail rate of course as opposed to say.. joining a premade farm group.

You need to complete T5 before you can enter T6-9 and then complete T9 before you can enter T10+. If you can't make a static look for learning groups in PF for the ones I mentioned above. Once you've learned all or most of the mechanics look for clear groups that don't require the win or say farm.

It took me about 5 DFs attempts to complete Turn 5. In nearly every attempt, the group stuck it out for nearly an hour before calling it. One attempt (with one wipe) on Turn 6. haven't tried anything beyond that, yet, though.

Well I'm glad you had some good luck with it but I'd still say the majority of DF groups aren't going to beat it simply due to the fact that people often quit after a couple of wipes.

This game-breaking flaw needs to be fixed.

You can almost definitely Duty Finder wins in Turn 1, 2 and 4 for First Coil of Bahamut. I have DF'ed into Turn 5 every once in a while and the groups never win, regardless of how much I communicate what needs to be done. Twisters seem to be the ultimate downfall for DF groups because without coordination and a voice channel, I can't call out twisters on PS4 very easily unless I make a macro. That doesn't always work either.

For Second Coil of Bahamut, Turn 6 should be pretty easily DF'd. The nerfs to Turn 7 make it possible, but I wouldn't expect a one shot unless your DF has some seasoned vets in it. It is still very easy to kill each other in Turn 7. Turn 8 has a lot of mechanics that need to be monitored by everyone in the group, so unless you have a DF with very high awareness in it's players I would say Turn 8 is doubtful.

Turn 9, don't put yourself through that. Turn 9 needs coordination and communication while you are learning. There are extremely varied mechanics in Turn 9, most of which you aren't subjected to until you run Turn 9. ]

Final Coil (which will be in DF very soon), I think Turn 10 would be the only one I would feel comfortable DF'ing, but can still see some problems. There are random elements to every single turn in Final Coil, and even though the mechanics themselves are all fairly simple once you have learned them, you still have to be aware of your fellow teammates and your surroundings. 10/11 are mechanics checks, 12 is a DPS check, and 13 is mechanic checks during the 1st 2 phases, and DPS checks in the final 2 phases.

Thanks for the answers! It seems to correlate with my google searching but I was hoping to find more current and relevant answers here with things like how general ilvl proliferation affected general success from say, half a year ago.

Which I did find here, and it doesn't really seem like it affected it at all. Good to know that T5 will be my cut off point before I should commit time to FC searching. That gives me a better gist of how I'll schedule my time, certainly.

    Thanks again!

Gear helps a lot, but the key wipe mechanics in turn 5 and 9 are instant death, so gear won't overpower those. For t5 the biggest killers are divebombs (somewhat) and twister (the most by far) I think. It is worth trying to DF through 5 still I reckon, but you should be going in with the mindset of having a few groups unable to beat it before getting it. T9 is a pretty big stopping block for DF, though, and where I'd say you'd be out of luck without PF.

T1-4, T6, T7 can be done in DF, I wouldn't try anything else expecting a win.

I expect to see lots of people defeat T10 and T11 in DF in the next few days.

T10 because it's really not too hard to learn your individual duties. Minor amount of teamwork and coordination.
T11 will be harder, but I expect a high success rate mostly, because people will run it a lot more often, as it drops carboncoat and encryped tomestone.
