I don't really know what I was getting at here... Either way your attitude is sucky.

Who the hell even cares, like really, if it makes other people happy, shouldn't that be enough for everyone? Or are you all really that petty and selfish? I'm only saying this because the huge fuss is over some fashion baubles. Like who even gives a flying monkey's shit over this? Apparently some do...
Yeah, I am very sorry for being sucky, petty & selfish for having different opinion than your. You make me sad and I have decide to hit my head to the pillow and suicide.

Despite of all the "I don't care" you throw out, I believe all the red mark show you do care enough and you want the earring, that s why you are here to support it.

I am also 1.0 player and I play since....not lucky enough to get into beta but I did pre-order the CE box and play the game the first day it goes live. I don't have the dalamud horn. I quit before beat Garuda so I have never finish the 1.0 story line. DO I ask for the horn ? no, it is because I don't deserves it, I was not there to finish the 1.0 story line.

The Dalamud Horn is proof the player have clear 1.0 story line
The Moonlet Earring are proof the player had joined that one-time event
The legacy Tattoo is proof the character had paid (you don't have to play, just paid and you get it) at the campaign
The Gobbue...ppl do have one similar so they will not complain or request this one.

IF you are not there to do the special one-time event or finish the 1.0 story line, you don't deserves it. You can take the Moonlet Earring like the Lightning event, it is one time and it should not come back ever again, because FFXIII- Lightning Return promotion is over

ps: it appear having a smile at the end of an argument cannot stop the negative comment

The Dalamud Horn is proof the player cleared the 7th umbral storyline from Yoshida. There was no item at the end of Tanakas original 1.0 storyline
The Legacy Tattoo (better name would be Meteor Survivor Tattoo or 1.0 Survivor Tattoo) is proof that the Character was created during 1.x. No payment was needed for this (except for the 1.0 box). No connection between the Tattoo and the Legacy Campaign.

I actually don't want the earring at all... I like the ones I got way more than that weird bauble thing. People have different tastes though and some obviously like it, so I don't see the huge fuss over letting them have it through some event or another. Also no, smiling doesn't always save us from negativity. Life facts aren't always a fun time.

The point several people are trying to make is that, yes, people have likes and wants and feel like everything should be accessible to everyone; however, there comes a time when an item being "exclusive" or "one-time" is labeled as such for a reason: meaning, the item(s) in question are just that. If you did not participate in such events, do not expect to get the item, even in a recolored fashion. You may as well have opted for a dye-able version of the original at that point.

As someone posted earlier in the thread, people basically paid to have the 1.0 game extended to 1.23; 2.0 was inevitable, regardless of player subs at the time. However, that paid subscription practically paid for the creation of said items, so do you feel like you are entitled to something 1.0 players essentially paid for themselves? Any items created once 2.0 was established are fair-game, yes, but do NOT expect 1.0 items to be up for grabs. That's just greed talking and, quite frankly, the sense of entitlement I've seen on the OF is pretty appalling. Never mind that most of them are 2.0 players; I know not every 2.0 player is like this, but every time something 1.0-related comes up, it's always a tug of war with both groups and 2.0 usually is the snarky one with negativity.

tl:dr Let 1.0 players have their exclusive items that they paid for; you can have what you paid for: in-game one-time events (LR, FFXI, CE's, etc). You didn't support a failing game, so neither should you get to enjoy whatever spoils it may have wrought.

Why should people feel entitled to exclusivity of items that they were never guaranteed as exclusives. People paid a subscription to play a game that they enjoyed, not under some promise of exclusivity of all the items in the game. A subscription is merely a monthly price to "play" a game, not to own everything associated with it. I didn't purchase 1.0 because I would have exclusive rights over all others to items. I purchased it because i actually liked parts of the game and at no point, outside the legacy program and a few events, did the dev team ever promise that I would be the only one with said item. If that were the case, people would be up in flames about primal weapons, recoloured onion knight gear, etc . going to 2.0 players.

And on the later point, it really goes both ways. Every time something 1.0 related comes up, you have 1.0/legacy players who really don't care, 2.0 players who would like an item, and then 1.0/legacy players who spout things like "I paid for this/you don't deserve this etc." even when the item was not promised as legacy exclusive and the 2.0 players that respond to them. If you've read this thread and saw 2.0 players as the aggressors, there has to be some bias in your viewpoint. In fact, it's been pretty civil outside of the odd 1.0 throwing around their weight and proclaiming what they and others "deserve".

    Well...they kinda did:
    http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com...531.1421723012

The following achievements will become unavailable upon release of A Realm Reborn
This is what they kept telling us the entire time. That if we are interested in getting these titles/items, we better, because they won't be available ever again...

Most of the events held in 1.0 were touted as seasonal events; like 2.0's events, they did not occur again, so bearing that in mind, the items themselves only made one appearance.

The earring, in question, is a case of 'Were you at the appointed date, time and location of said event?". Expecting to receive something you were not present for is asking a bit much. I don't even need to get down to morals or right or wrong at that point; it stops at the point of whether or not you expect to receive something you weren't present for.

Again, most of these items were given out via seasonal events, players who had purchased the game and/or took part in the storyline. SE repeated, several times, on their website and via other modes of communication that the content they were releasing would be exclusive to the current Era of the 1.0 lore, and that they would be transferable to 2.0 but that players must complete first in order to retain anything. The implication is that, no, 2.0 players would not have access to this content and it's for an obvious reason: to reward 1.0 players for playing their dying game and give them a sense of exclusivity for having done so.

In short, let 1.0 lay where it is. Focus on 2.0, because that is what 2.0 players are paying for. Expecting an item or title from an event you missed is a bit ridiculous; everyone has their own sob story on how or why they couldn't play or chose not to play 1.0 at the time the event or items were happening/given out. But the fact doesn't change that you didn't support the game, so don't expect anything in return.

Also, Primal weapons came from in-game duties; comparing a dungeon-instance with a one-time event in terms of items is not really feasible.
