The reason Summoner are poison masters as opposed to spirit-calling elementalist is because they are connected to the Scholar and it doesn't make since for the Scholar to be using Summoning Magic. Making Summoner and Scholar share a base class was a horrible idea because its a balancing nightmare. SE has to balance the both the Summoner against other DPS and Healers which makes it impossible to make the changes they need to make. Summoner should split form the Arcanist and get Elementalist/Summoning Magic and Scholar keeps the DoT Poisoning Magic.
