This sentiment goes both ways, however. Legacy players and 1.0 players can't lay claim to items that were never guaranteed exclusively to them through the legacy campaign. The Moonlet Earrings were given out during an event while 1.0 was still free. Nobody "earned" them by sticking around and paying a subscription. All things from 1.0 do not fall under the legacy umbrella and frankly, a paying customer can and should ask for them if they don't and they want them. He is wrong. He is trying to say that items that were never guaranteed to be exclusively his/hers, somehow fall under perks guaranteed through the legacy campaign which is just a complete overreach. None us are entitled to anything beyond agreements/promises made with the dev team.
Everyone really just needs to stay in their lanes when it comes to 1.0 assets. 2.0 players are not guaranteed a chance to obtain legacy Perks. 1.0/Legacy players are not guaranteed exclusivity over all 1.0 assets not promised to them as perks.
I can agree with this, for the most part.

As a legacy player, I'd be fine with the earring coming back. It was just an event item like most others. I'm quite surprised it's not in the cash shop, tbh.
The Dalamud horn and White Ravens though, probably shouldn't. They were for very specific once in a lifetime moments. I don't even know why these are a subject of discussion.

It come only in the cash shop if the event happened on ARR and is already 1 year old (the moment the event happen again the next time).
Because "The Curse of Dalamud" was not a seasonal event, that happen every year, this will not happen.
What can happen is retainer venture, rare item in unhidden maps or a new event (but without cash shop)
Or a boss drop if we get a giant mice as a boss ^^

There are 1.0 event items available in the cash shop.

I am a legacy player, while never played much 1.xx.
I became legacy because I wanted ffxiv to succeed.
I just hated the terrible interface, that felt so unresponsive.
I really would love to play 1.0 with a good UI as we have now. I would love to play the old story.
I know a lot of people who wish they would have known ffxiv back then.
I wish we could travel to the past and relive the old quests and battles even if we still wouldn't get the old items.
I never understood the special treatment. Mmorpgs should be about community, having fun together, content that make you different because you played in different time I dislike greatly.
But I always hated special event items in Mmorpgs.
My legacy chocobo, I wish my friends could get it too, if the subbed for a certain amount of time.
I really dislike that they can't have the same things.
I have great dislike for being special. My reward is that I still enjoy playing this game with many people.

I understand the pattern you're seeing.
That isn't to say they can't just add it anyway.

Because I like the cash shop. *round of gasps*
They can do either, obviously. But more likely I see a recolor as a cash shop item as opposed to a quest that gives me a blue robotic unicorn horn.

I'd much prefer actually playing the game to get it as opposed to just buying it. Just buying it isn't nearly as fun or engaging.
I think that's my main issue with vanity DLC in general. At a point, you may as well just have a free to play doll up game with all the fancy clothes as DLC. You know, like Maple Story.
But whatever, I don't want to ramble.
