[Suggestion] Travel Feature: Beaten Path

If you can't call a chocobo to you (As I think you should be able to, classic footprint style) this would be a good substitute.

Edit: in reply to the above, I don't think it's necessarily a good idea that personal mounts run faster than chocobos. It does make some sense that they'd run faster on a hardened path, however.

I fixed that to Rented Chocobos. Sorry. Personal Mounts would be mounts you raised yourself if they are indeed giving those to us, and those would include Chocobos.

So that's it? You just walk on the road and randomly you get a buff for increased movement speed...

I think it's a great idea. I usually ignore the paths unless I'm really bored and feel like 'role playing'. Otherwise, I just go by the fact that the quickest route between 2 points is a straight line. I imagine that most people do this. Giving us a reason to follow the actual paths would be pretty cool, IMO.

Ah right, that makes sense! Seems like it would be a pretty good idea, there definitely needs to be a perk to raised mounts over the basic ones.

It only lasts while on the road itself, Its a travel feature, its not meant for anything but increasing travel speed. Hell When chocobos come to be rideable, as well as personal mounts, They would also get these Buffs.

So Lets say normally running is 100%

Running 100%
Running on Beaten Path 125%
Rented Chocobo 150%
Rented Chocobo on Beaten Path 175%
Personal Mount 175%
Personal Mount on Beaten Path 200%

That is just a guess but that is how it could work.
