[Suggestion] Travel Feature: Beaten Path

We know a lot of new travel features will be added to XIV in the future, At the minimum Chocobo's and Airships, and yeah theres rumors of Carts and Ships as well.

But what about people who are already deep in adventure and away from home?


Well thats where the Beaten Path status comes into effect.


While traveling on a Established Road (Marked on Map, Paved in world.) After taking approximately 10 steps without going off path you'd recieve the Beaten Path status bonus.

While under this status you gain an increase in speed as long as you maintain the Movement on the road.

If you stop running, or leave the path it will wear off after 10 steps (or the time it would have taken for 10 steps if you just stopped moving.)

Also while under this traveling status your health regeneration rate increases.

I think it is a need idea but it could take a lot of work and time to be done properly.
It's also kind of a question for the future. Maybe after chocobos and airtransportation are released.

This feature would be really helpful for people who are already in the field and have a long way to travel on foot to get home.

Uh FFXI did actually Using the Mog Tablets. If you rested for one tick you got "Quickening" which increased your movement speed until you were attacked or you attacked.

Yes, that gave you a buff for a "reason", people used the Mob Tablets and gives you an increase in speed. But implementing a buff like that without reason is stupid.

Cool idea.

Think they plan on having player owned mounts, eventually. Hopefully we will be able to summon them wherever in the field, otherwise something like this would be extremely helpful.

This would be a buff for a "Reason" The reason being you travelled a bit of distance on a Paved Road.

It only lasts while on the road itself, Its a travel feature, its not meant for anything but increasing travel speed. Hell When chocobos come to be rideable, as well as personal mounts, They would also get these Buffs.

So Lets say normally running is 100%

Running 100%
Running on Beaten Path 125%
Rented Chocobo 150%
Rented Chocobo on Beaten Path 175%
Personal Mount 175%
Personal Mount on Beaten Path 200%

That is just a guess but that is how it could work.
