i'm still wondering where people are getting this idea.
He was saying it's possible to give player-made Au Ra females an appearance similar to the succubi models, implying more "mature" sexy and less "cute/waifish". He never said they were demonic.

With the Au Ra, this includes both female and male, the emphasis during character creation is on the horns. You'll be able to focus heavily on creating the horns. The face structure, for this race, is a little different than what you're currently familiar with. There is a certain direction that isn't really reptilian, but more succubus-like, or demon-like.

When we were considering the options, there were mentions of making female Au Ra more stocky and buff. However the data that's been complied about what race and gender are being used, indicate that Hyur Highlander females and Roegadyn females are not used by very many players. We definitely took that into consideration when finalizing the design of female Au Ra. To reiterate though, there is the option to make her more demon- or succubus-like.

Is this taken from the PAX East panel? Because I saw that panel, and after reading that it is JUST talking about making the characters more succubus or demon LIKE. He was using the in-game references we have to indicate a design choice you can make when creating your character. This is likely something lost in translation a little bit, because his original speech said absolutely NOTHING about their origins having anything to do with demons. He said "succubus" in references to facial features. He also says "reptilian." He was assuaging fears that they'd all be lizard-like.
"Can make her more demon-like" in no way has anything to do with their origins. It's the same way you can make Lalafell more "Doll-like," but they weren't born from the union between Raggedy Anne and a human.

Looking like a demon doesn't make one a demon. It's been stated several times that Au'ra are dragonkin (or whatever you want to call them). They are not demon at all.
Yoishi-P said that since the majority of the player base doesn't play female Highlanders or Roegadin they scrapped the idea of making the female Au'ra look like them bulky 'landers and Roes. Instead, they chose to make them more similar to your average japanese game girl, but with the options to add some demon-like features (such as long, curvy sexy horns) to make them look less similar to midlander hyurs. Closest thing we have to that in the game are succubi and demons, because dragons are ugly. That's it.

It hasn't though. That's what most of this debate is about. It makes sense for them to be draconic/dragonkin of some sort, but it has never been officially stated. We will probably get some closure either next week, when Yugiri reveals her face or when the benchmark comes out/they finally update that darn website.

Yugiri might have some answers for us. Why Au'Ra are in Othard and where did they come from ?
