i'm still wondering where people are getting this idea.
He was saying it's possible to give player-made Au Ra females an appearance similar to the succubi models, implying more "mature" sexy and less "cute/waifish". He never said they were demonic.
Add to that, it kinda goes against the theme.
The void isn't really mentioned anywhere else in anything remotely related to Heavensward. To have the Au Ra be demonic in ancestry is so far out of left field I really think anyone who thinks so is reaching for straws that just aren't there.
It'd be like having a Jungle expansion where we fight marauding monkeys alongside rat people and introducing a new race as...birdfolk from a completely different continent that is never named nor referenced.
Let me break this down nice and easy, this concept of narrative verisimilitude. Warning that this'll be LONG.
Going back to EQ1, the first race added in the first expansion was the Iksar, a race of lizard people VERY heavily tied into the lore of the new continent, and had their physical differences equally explained and expanded upon. Following that, 2 expansions later saw the Vah Shir, another race intrinsically tied to the location the expansion took place on, and a race that was referenced as far back as the vanilla version of the game. Frogloks were also added during a turbulent time involving trolls, but that expansion is also not very well received sooo. Finally, the most recent were the Drakkin, a race of dragon-kin tied intrinsically to dragons in an expansion featuring dragons.
Next we have EQ2, which introduced Fae in an expansion involving a very "fay" location called "faydwer" that also played a big part in the story. Next the Sarnak were added in an expansion again having to do with the aforementioned iksar. I won't get into the 3 "intermediate" races since they weren't added as part of expansions, though the Aerakyn were part of the content that was being addressed at the time.
Then we move on to WoW, which added the Blood Elves and Draenei during an expansion heavily featuring them taking center stage. Next they added the Goblins and Worgen, who embodied the changes coming to Azeroth at the time. Finally (for now) there were the Pandaren, added with their continent.
Star Trek Online added Romulans during an expansion centering around Romulans.
In short, it doesn't really make sense to add a race that has nothing to do with dragons in an expansion centered on dragons.
