RMT Advertising on Leviathan Server is Off the Charts!

In the last week, there has been a massive increase in the number of tells (and now shouts) advertising RMT through various websites. The amount is now many times that of normal, and this has been mentioned by dozens of players in the last few days. Many players are now setting themselves to a status of "Busy" to avoid this spam, which in turn makes the game less social. I greatly appreciate Square Enix's dedication to dealing with RMT violations of ToS. I hope that an increase in vigilence to stop this behavior will allow RMT to return to minimal levels.

P.S. All our blacklists are full! This Lala is begging! Give us larger blacklists and hunt down these gil spammers!

It's been bad on Diabolos too the last few weeks. I can't even begin to justify all the time it would take to write reports for every single one.

I still advocate bulk editing of our blacklists and perhaps give us little markers in our blacklists which indicate when a character has been permanently banned (it's easier to prune the lists, and the space is wasted if we're not sure which ones are banned and which aren't).

It's been so bad on Behemoth I opened up PF an hour ago and someone had a death threat message saying he's going to find these RMTers and kill them... >_> He removed his message pretty quickly though... plus the level of people going /busy is OFF THE CHARTS.

But SE has yet to comment on this at all. We can't even get a forum admin to say anything. Loving it!

Ultros has had an apparent upswing on these guys too. I feel like there has to be a better way to handle them than blacklisting them (and eventually having to clean that out since 200 isn't even close to enough) and filling out lengthy reports for literally hundreds of RMT bots.

Yes, Leviathan is awful. Constant tells and the other day I was in Limsa and they were literally shouting the same gil spam message like 8 times in a row, every 5-10 minutes.

Its bad on Lamia also, i got tells from Four different websites as soon as i logged in.
its picked up and going to get worst as we get closer to the expansion

I've noticed an increase of rmt spam on Hyperion as well.

SE should design a feature where you can just click on the tell and select "report for violation of ToS". One touch. This would send a copy of the tell and the name to a GM. This will only work if the GMs take IMMEDIATE action (minutes) to perma-ban that account and all other accounts from that IP address.

There's a certain 3rd party tool that allows for user managed chat filters. Can obliterate RMT spam with a good filter. This should honestly be something included officially, just let us create some custom word filters. Would be better than having a 200 player blacklist that doesn't actually help.
