really dont know why so many topics are appearing about gold spammers dont think its as bad as ppl are making out lol in my world ODIN i mayb get 1 RMT tell once every 8-9 days n rarely n i mean RARELY even see a gold seller message on chat in any of the major cities

If you've taken the time to read any of the threads that had people, like yourself, claim that they aren't getting many RMT tells on their server (and therefor, must not be a problem right?). You would have also read that servers that have heavy character creation restrictions wont have the spam problem other servers have, because the bots can't create new characters to spam.

On servers that bots are free to create character after character, we get shit on by tells constantly as the bots cycle through the various ways to roll a face across the keyboard to create a name.

lol RMT was bad in odin for ages couldnt even see chat in city without blacklisting 10 players everytime u entered now its nice n clean which means SE are working on the problem... also another problem is most people dont bother to report them just block so naturally they wont disappear lolz

It's not like we have a credible way to report the /tells though. I mean it's like this: GMs get a report about a /tell gil seller ok... screenshots can be edited and forged and word of mouth definitely ain't good enough to warrant a ban (this helps protect innocent people from revenge reporting).

The reporting system does NOT give the GMs a copy of the chat meaning there is no way for the GMs to see the validity of a /tell gil seller report. That is flawed big time. To top it all off, they delete their characters after a round of gil selling tells so the GMs can't investigate who was being reported cuz they now go by different names.

So until SE allows the GMs to receive a guaranteed unedited snip of chat logs and give GMs better ways to track down accounts such as a list of character names that were recently deleted so the GMs can find the accounts of these /tell sellers regardless of them deleting their characters or not, we are not going to see this end... ever. SE has a very poorly designed system in place end-of-story.

I'll just put this here, chat logs go through the server to reach the player, in a proper client server system everything should be logged, every connection so if something goes wrong you can see exactly what was happening at that time. This is the same with chat logs, everything you have said for at least 24hrs (no idea how long they keep them for) is stored on the server, if you report an RMT a GM just pulls up the chat logs from the server searches for the character you are reporting and BAM!! an unedited snip of the chatlog which we cannot falsify.

And to track accounts of characters? X character ID is linked to one account they can see that but what use is that when they can use any false information to create more accounts, ban their IP or mac, they will use a new one or spoof it, ban any account information they will just use fake information, ban CC numbers, they will just connect to the dark net and buy more. Account bans are 100% useless as they can be made and all information used in registration can be faked.
