    dat Final Fantasy XV demo~

I know this isn't the forum to post about another game, namely Final Fantasy XV on a Final Fantasy XIV forum. But with the release of the Final Fantasy XV demo, I'm really itching to give some feedback on my gameplay experience since it kind of reminded me of the mistakes Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 did. High quality animations that lock you into place and cant dodge or defend, some rendering issues and frame rate slow downs, and my Playstation 4 nearly over heating. But despite the problems with the game, it also does a lot of good things ! I saw that Ramuh summon and I was like, "Final Fantasy has restored its glory o.o"

But in light of it all, I think the Demo shows very well the direction the game is going, and it looks great. But I can also see all the mistakes they're doing and I get that FFXIV 1.0 flash back memories going through my mind like a war veteran with bad PTSD. Is there any where I can leave feedback for Final Fantasy XV ? :O I want to help make it an even better game. And I'm sure those of you that played it want to too. Anyways, I'll probably get flamed or the thread gets deleted or whatever, but I figured it was worth a shot.

Yeah, especially when trying to target the smaller, faster moving dog mobs. The camera is whirling all over the place

I got used to it but I agree, the combat is fun but needs some work.

On a related note aint we all glad the ramuh we fight in xiv isn't the same one as the summon in xv x_X

Every time I hear someone say actions locking you place and preventing you from dodging is something that needs to be changed, I just sigh. Try to swing a sword and then dodge roll or side step before you regain your balance. It isn't possible. It is something that I wish they kept from 1.0 as it makes for a realistic challenge. Of course, nowadays gamers just want to maximize their damage by constantly swinging rather than maximizing their damage by attacking at the right times.

There's a video of Titan on youtube. (I've only seen a screenshot.)

This thread is likely to get locked or deleted but too want to leave some feedback somewhere.

All in all I found the demo to be a VERY positive experience. The world is large and beautiful, the characters are fun and likable, the combat is intense, and nods to older FF games are very welcome. But to try and keep this to the point I'm just going to give feedback that I feel is most important.

-The camera feels "heavy". It moves sluggishly and never quite seems to focus on what you want it to. It doesn't help that I'd like it to be zoomed out just a bit more. But the camera becomes a real problem in combat.

-The lock on is really bad. The camera doesn't follow what you're trying to attack and it falls off for apparently no reason.

-The auto target is also problematic. I often found myself turning around to stab the air even though there was an enemy right in front of me.

-When you doge or use skills it should cancel out of whatever else you're doing. It's frustrating to press a skill and have to wait for Noct to swing his sword a few more times before it goes off.

-Companion AI could still use some work. Prompto is a ranged character but he's contently running into the mist of the fray to melee things and getting himself killed. Also, I love Ignis, he was always there for me and would often help attack whatever I was attacking. But there were times when he would jump in front of me so I couldn't hit my target anymore.

-Collision detection is a bit too strong, especially with your companions. They can become immovable road blocks if you get yourself into a tight corner and they don't move out of the way. Even in combat you can find yourself 'stuck' on one of your companions and unable to move for a few seconds.

These are all very, very minor gripes and I'm sure that most if not all of them are being worked on already. But I still wanted to have the opportunity to give some real feed back to the team. I'm very excited by the direction the game seems to be heading and I look forward with great anticipation to the release.

This comment leads me to believe you've never held a sword or done any sort of martial arts training.

I've yet to use my code and download the game though from what I hear (combat etc.)...does it play very similarly to Type 0? Looks like it when they make their weapons appear/disappear.

No I don't feel like it plays like type-0.

I mean, they are "somewhat" similar as in you have a couple techniques, and your main attacks is just Square, but type-0 is a lot more fast paced and switching between characters mid-combat even furthers itself from xv in terms of gameplay.
