Astrologian Speculations! How will it fit in?

About Astrologian's LB my bet is that it will freeze or reverse time for 5s or so so that the boss / the mechanics will stop but you will still be able to move / get healed and etc (not to attack imo). Obviously my character would love to get some time based magic lol

in order to reduce the "hack" aspect of such LB and to prevent other healers from becoming useless i suspect that the next fights will have less insta death mechanics.

I mean, "time reverse LB" could save the day in Titan Ex if a healer get landslided out of the ring but it wont help in Ifrit Ex if you cant kill the nails fast enough (given that you cant attack under the LB effect) or if you cant coordinate enough to go through complex mechanics.

I guess that the ASTRO will have one stance for strictly healing purposes and the other for pure damage mitigation with no healing and the cards for resource recoveries and buffs.

which makes it sounds like a more complicated yet versatile version of a SCH

Read my mind Stance seems to strickly healing. While Stance two will be strickly barrier with Paladin healing potency.

I think astrological sound really interesting. Being able to take the place of a White Mage or Scholar depending on what stance you are in, healing (Tsukiyomi - Moon reader) and shielding (Hoshiyomi - Star reader). if you have a Scholar in your party you'd go Moon Reader stance to be more like a WHM. If you have a WHM in your party you'd go Star Reader to play more like a SCH. I think I remember reading somewhere that changing stances is going to have a long cool down as to not make the Astrologian over powered. I'm definitely going to have to try it out. I am really interested to see how their limit break works also.

Then I googled and it looks like the Celestial Statis LB may make a comeback, which could introduce a stop mechanic - but stop in my mind makes no difference to a stun in this game.

Time reverse sounds highly unlikely.

nope. They explained it as a "It'll be as if time stopped, and then everyone will be at full HP". Don't get your hopes high for a real time stop

Myself and a couple of FC mates theorize that only the animation for each individual class/job will be unique, but the effect will be the same. So, I imagine AST LB3 would look like they're stopping time and suddenly, everyone is revived, mended to full, etc in some epic looking fashion.

Time will tell. (har har, that bad joke)

lol, funny enough, I didn't even notice that "joke" until I re-read it on my editing and was like "wow, that's horrible" *Plugs in random comment about terrible joke*.

Back on topic, I'm hoping that if AST is released as a pure healer capacity (despite having difficulties leveling), it would reduce the amount of complaints there are about healers needing to DPS to be accepted >.>; Don't want to DPS, pick AST!

As one firmly in the camp of "only lazy/bad healers completely eschew DPS" I truly hope so.

Something tells me those people allergic to work will find something else to complain about, though. Today it's "But I shouldn't have to DPS, and you can't make me!" Tomorrow it will be "Don't make me use my barrier stance or advanced card buffs, I'm a HEALER."

That and/or AST who macro everything with a Yu-Gi-Oh announcement macro. I had a tank in satash HM who did this one, to EVERY SINGLE MOVE. I couldnt really heal very well due to my eyes bleeding so much..............
