The odds of that happening are so ridiculously low, something like .6^80, it's hard to believe anyone anywhere has ever had that happen ... unless you were dead 99% of it.
I think he means thundercloud not firestarter (mistakes happen) which could make sense since the proc rate is 5%.
I now want a Firecloud AoE.
Yoshi-P is doing his best and is patching Endwalker. Please wait warmly until it is ready.
Let me correct myself then, not a single NIN can beat BLM in burst dps no matter how good they are"Burst" dps refers to a very short period of time. It is for things like "oh adds just spawned how quick can i kill them?" or "Trick Attack (or some other brief window) is up, how much dps can I pump out in 10 sec?"
"Burst" dps does not and has never referred to a length of time remotely approaching 3 mins.
(This is just general MMO knowledge)
Imagine what you mean is really Firestarter, then you're the real bad luck brian there![]()
Has there been any "best" gear for each turn or is it still somewhat up to the player? BLM gear doesn't seem as "set" in what is best thanks to the RNG aspect
Aikaal and I use CHR sets on T10 and T12 due to the Flare amounts. SS set on T11. I use SS on T13 due to not valuing add phase AoE in T13 but there's plenty of room for CHR love, especially if you handle wyverns where crits are very valuable and SS is not that useful unless Selene is currently up. Flint Caviar on all sets.
I don't think the BLM community is going to ever change from the notion that SS >>> all for every encounter in the 2.X series, however. It's too ingrained in the meta. Will have to see how 3.0 stats work before it could ever get changed regardless of results, probably.

I've been seeing a greater DPS difference, on a dummy, in my SS set-up and my Det/Crit setup. Starting to think Det/Crit builds show up stronger on a dummy while SS shows up stronger on fights that matter. My friend believes that I'm stronger on my Det/Crit becaue of what he has saw even though I try to explaint he stat returns lol
