Could the New Summoner Limit Break be EPIC Summon Attacks? (or, OMG FF XV's Ramuh!)

If they add summons that aren't current primals I wouldn't care, but if it's a case of "I'ma go summon Levi, Titan, Ifrit, Garuda.. etc etc" then I'll have issues with current lore. At this point in time, summoning one of them would be far too risky, as they're just as likely to turn around and come after the party.

Well, the Limit Breaks have always been about Fan Service. By your line of reasoning,

* Why does a Monk (or Dragoon, or Ninja) magically pull out Cloud's Final Fantasy VII BUSTER SWORD (and they aren't even adept at using Swords) when doing a Limit Break?

* How does a Paladin magically summon a Gigantic Castle Wall the size of the entire Arena? There's nothing about this type of ability from their storyline.

Etc.

I really hope we get something more Epic and a nod to classic Final Fantasy Summons in 3.0.

Except the story has long stated that to summon a Primal requires enormous quantities of aether and multiple summoners all evoking at once - so much so it's harmful to the planet every time a Primal is summoned.

As our very existence as protagonists in the narrative is to protect Hydaelyn, it would be hypocritical for us to summon Primals, and hence no summoning of Primals for you (hells, even Ifrit himself forced the player to swear back in 1.0 never to summon a Primal themselves, although that idea seems to have been abandoned and retconned by Ferne and the writing team in ARR).

I hate to say it, but the game's storyline pretty much makes any kind of 'traditional' summoning contradictory, meaning it will most likely never happen.

No, LB3 would not be a Primal Summon, just its essence. But since it is LB3 the essence can look like the real primal and perform the real attack. Didn't the Allagan summoned stuff without harming the planet?
I'm betting my money SMN LB3 will be Megaflare. It is impractical to use current egi for LB, that would put SMN on a disavantage point in case the Egi is dead or not summoned. What if I just got ressed but can't summon because of no MP? No LB? While a BLM would be able to always LB no matter what? Therefore we will be getting an iconic SMN attack from a primal we won't have the Egi, Bahamut. Both Meteor and Megflare usually are BLM and SMNs ultimate move. Or we might get a "random" summon LB, while cool it seems easier from the devs point to just give us 1 new LB instead of 6.

looks so awesome.. hoping ff15 stays true to summoners n has lots n lots of summons but all look just as amazing as the ramuh summon *o*

Alternately, perhaps there would be a Carbuncle LB3? It could do Meteorite, even though that may be similar to the BLM LB3. Ruby Light would be fitting as a Carbuncle skill even though that's traditionally a buff, not an attack.

What about SCH, on the other side of the coin? I'd put money on their LB3 being related to Helios, the third sibling of Eos and Selene in myth, though again Carbuncle could work. I mean, many of you SCH and SMN would go for some way to use Carbuncle again, right?

Seriously though, I would like the carbuncles back as pets. I won't even mind if their abilities are 100% identical to Garuda/Titan-Egi's (hey, those ability sets are tired and true; i.e. they work) - if you want to add some difference they can give them a different Enkindle; party-wide Reflect? (To my knowledge, traditionally a carbuncle ability.)
