    Ifrit is perfectly acceptable in several fights, has been for a while now.

    nope. Ifrit is for short fights (better dps) and garuda for longer fights (better MP management due to contagion). That's the only real difference between the 2.

    Well, maybe Ifrit tends to die more against bosses' AoEs
