And in ESO console and pc are separated.
I'll keep that in mind when I grab the bundle for pc. (Really, I am going to buy a PC copy if theres a good deal for a bundle. I didn't know that detail about connecting them on the account. I thought it was just logging on with the existing account)

Really,? I heard ESO for ps4 needed the PS Plus to run and might go partial f2p, but the console versions are all isolated?

No different from XI at all. I always had to buy both the PC and 360 versions. I would've been surprised if it weren't this way.

How i understand it you only needed the discs for both platform but only 1 key.
So it was only neccessary to buy the game twice if you didn't know anyone who have it already for the other platform to install it.

The PSN account get linked to the SE account
After installing ARR on a PS and starting it, it ask you if you want to connect it to an already existing SE account or if you want to connect it to a new SE account. It can then only login to the SE account that is connected to it. To login to another SE account you have to create a new PSN account (and get a new key if it is not yet registered on the other SE account).

Because it also come for Xbox One. Microsoft don't like multiplatform games.

I'm not new costumer nor I'm making new account!
You hurt my feelings. You're a stupid example!!

And threads about this still keep popping up...? I really fail to see why people are so surprised about this.

PC, or rather Windows, is one platform system - let's say two, because there's also Steam. PS4 is another system - and I assume PS3 is too. X1 is yet another system. OSX's gonna be, again, another system. That's 5(+1) different systems the game has to be developed for, which is resources, time and money, all of which has to be paid.

They all have their own online account management, their own servers, their own network, their own authentications. Your SE account has you linked to the servers where your characters, savegames and platform-licenses are stored. That's it, that's all there is to it, that's what you access when you log in and link something to your SE account. If you enter a PC code, it will know that you bought the game for PC (either bare Windows or Steam), it will allow you to play on PC. It will not magically enable you to download and play on PS4, because you have not entered a PS4 code - also Sony's own network won't have its database refreshed from SE's servers that you have bought the game, so Sony will have no idea either. Same applies to X1 and the same will apply to Mac.

I really don't know why this is such a difficult concept to grasp. Especially when it's been the same with ARR last year. (The upgrade campaign has been a special deal, I'd guess both because Sony wanted to make its new console as appealing as possible and because SE wanted to help its players, well, upgrade.)

If buying the expansion for one platform was going to score you the expansion on every platform... You wouldn't have had to buy ARR for PS4 as well as PC, upgrading from PS3 to PS4 during that campaign wouldn't stop you from still playing on PS3, and your Mogstation account certainly wouldn't bother listing your PC and PS3/4 licenses separately.

IDK why everyone is acting like it's SO OBVIOUS that FFXIV wouldn't do what FFXI did, where you just need 1 key for all three platforms for an expansion, and you can use the expansion on all 3 platforms as long as the expansion data is installed.

Highly doubt it. WoW wouldn't allow you to be a new race unless you purchased the new expansion, and I don't see why this game's expansion, with the new race as one of its selling points, would.

Well not everyone had RL friends that also played the game that you could just borrow their discs meaning they had to buy the data regardless if another code was needed or not. Many of the friends I made on XI was from playing the game and lived no where near me.
