I am disappoint.
I am disappoint.
I bought gas in my first car and now that I bought a new car I have to buy gas for that too?! WTF is that? I thought I'd get free upgrades for life on that!
still 99% certain you will be able to become Au Ra without buying the expansion.
History with expansions on FFXI. Brought to you by Nestama.
Some years back, I bought FFXI for the PC on Steam. It came with all expansions and the Abyssea add-ons (before Adoulin). Some time throughout the year, my laptop decided it didn't want to live on this planet, so I decided to buy FFXI for the X360. The disc I bought only came with expansions leading to ToAU (did not need the code), which meant I could NOT access Wings of the Goddess zones, nor the Abyssea zones, as they were a part of that expansion. So I bought the WotG expansion from eBay and was set to play the game (again, did not need the code, as everything was already registered to my account). Some time later, Adoulin comes out and I buy it for the X360. A year passes and I finally get myself a PC that can handle games. Although I have not re-downloaded FFXI from my Steam account yet, I already know I will need to buy Adoulin for the PC just to access the new zones (and Jobs).
Although I did not need the codes for WotG to play on the 360 (PS2, X360 and PC are all linked to the same SE account), I still needed the disc to install the data. Likewise for when I buy Adoulin for the PC. Won't need the code, but WILL need the install data.
tl;dr: Nothing in this world is free. Deal with it.

that's really stupid example
you should say "I bought gas to drive my car on 1st street, do I have to buy gas again to drive on 2nd street ?"
and people keep BSing us because they only play on one device, for me I need to go home every weekend and it's not possible for me to carry my whole PC gaming set up to home every week, so I use the same account my account to play the same game with the same save date on the same server and same everything, not fair to pay again... I'm not new costumer nor I'm making new account!
There are a lot of examples that currently exist for this issue.that's really stupid example

You buy an app on Android. To use the same app on iOS, you have to buy the app again.
You buy a DLC for a game on PC. You also have to buy the DLC on PSN.
No, it's not silly to expect to pay for different platforms. Sony, Apple, or whatever company out there deserves to get some money for those that want to buy games or some software that requires their platform. You expect them to just earn money from console sales?
Just slow down a bit and think why console and platform developers require people to buy software specifically for their platform. You think Google is going to be happy if someone bought an app from Apple store and get to use it on Android phones and only Apple received money for it?
Try starting a business and see how you react if your consumers can take advantage of your product while the profits go to your competitors. Maybe then you will understand the rationale.
If SE owned PS4 and Windows and required people to buy the game for both platforms then it's unfair.
And don't use that "you only play on one platform" crap as an excuse.
Although I don't do it for FF14, I have played multiple games and bought DLCs on different platforms and I see no reason to get mad that I have to buy it for different platforms. Sure this game is owned by SE. However, companies don't exist by themselves. They have to pay many other companies to have access to different things.

Yes.. It's been like that on FFXI, Diabolo III, HD remakes of Halo, Fallout, Mine Craft, Skyrim and pretty much every ting from ElderScrolls have always been like that when it comes to multy platform. You're buying it for the platform. However in the sense of Online MMO's your character data is shared so long as the platforms are interconnected. Like FFXI was on PC, PS3(minor), PS2, 360 and FFXIV is on PC, PS3, PS4, and soon Apple. Aside from that you might get away with buying 1 PC software package and installing it on several PC's. As long as the accounts used are valid, all you'ld be doing then is paying for more than one account or character.
HAHA! Perfect analogy!
But really guys, just because you bought the original game on two systems doesn't entitle you to the expansions for free on 1 or the other...
Boo freaking hoo. Did you not read what I wrote above your post? Nothing in this world is free. Deal with it. You are not entitled to a free or discounted copy of Heavensward. No one is.and people keep BSing us because they only play on one device, for me I need to go home every weekend and it's not possible for me to carry my whole PC gaming set up to home every week, so I use the same account my account to play the same game with the same save date on the same server and same everything, not fair to pay again... Of course here in XIV you have to register and connect your PS3/PS4 and PC license. For XIV you are literally buying it for that platform, SE just lets you connect the two if you want. If you don't connect them, your PS and PC accounts are completely separate which means no sharing of character data etc. Granted I don't know many MMOs other than ESO and XI and XIV that are cross platform. And in ESO console and pc are separated.
