Can you show me a smooth MMORPG. For reference, of course. I have played many MMO's for many years. And this is hands down the best dev team and smoothest game I've ever played. And with the amount of content they put out, it's pretty impressive. That food is spoiled. Much as I love this game and the work they put into it things have seldom EVER gone smoothly for them. Come expansion everyone will activate and there will be a whole slew of problems. I wouldn't be surprised if nearly the whole period of "Early Access" for pre-orders will be server downtime and the inability to connect to new areas like Ishgard and content. And expect it to multiply for up to the first week after everyone has access.
As much as i would like to go into a simple dye reconstruction, which i will, one, every place in every inch of the world must be coded for people to dye, its not like HUGE DOME, where 1 code intercepts all, you have to go in, piece by piece and variable by variable, and besides the hours of pre-coding before hand, its quit difficult to make and code solid on 1 run, with literally 100,000,000 of variables in this giant mmo, but in the end, they dont pick the best timing for the players, they do it for the programers. In all honesty no matter what, when having a game world wide based, you need to base the fact that people in Japan are working on this at like 3 pm right now, America close to 1 am, Germany programers even help, European, french, etc, all considerably different time zones. Yeah it sucks but its how the world of ECONOMY works which will overcome any player base on any platform of gaming.
Well, if you want to get technical, all MMORPG's are "smooth". Since "touching it" is touching your computer screen. If you're talking about physical copies of the game, most packages are smooth except for collector editions since they normally have like this holographic pop out stuff on them.

Actually, not 100% agreeing with him but EU servers will be getting their own Database and be split from NA I think near to when Heavensward comes, so that 'could' be it.
Edit: Least I remember something being said about a new Database being added for EU servers, not sure if they actually said it'd be for heavensward though. :/

Yeah, I am aware of that. Still, Saturday night prime time is an awful time to make NA players have trouble playing. That's more paid subscription time going bye bye on a day when many people could play the most. SE may not take that or the overly frequent maintenances into consideration if they base everything around employee convenience, but I firmly believe they should.

I am sure they have some emergency going on that they had to do this maintenance on Saturday Night...
That said... I hope this won't happen again...
