No but dye tiers exist meaning if you see gear of a certain range of colors, it's from a specific tier. For example Velveteen items can be red whereas Canvas items don't have that option.
this :I mean I'm okay for having metallic colors only for metallic things obviously you can't be applying those to regular fabric (and vice versa) but I'm just talking about the range of colors. I don't want to have red restricted to cotton or green restricted to velveteen or anything like that.
Meaning you should be able to dye any colors applicable (like fabric dyes for fabric of any kind, enamel for metals, etc) and even change the color of your gears after the crafting process, eliminating the need to have multiple parts of different colors.Had a discussion with Yoshi-P about changing the color of you gear through crafting. Currently the strength of your gear is often demonstrated through color variance, however, in 1.19 we will be eliminating this system. Yoshida believes it will be possible to make it so you are able to change the color of your gear through crafting. However, since it is a higher priority for us to add new variations of equipment, we can't promise implementation, but we are looking into it.
Thank you for the info! Glad to hear there are some ideas floating about, just hope after all the major stuff that they'll consider this as well.Had a discussion with Yoshi-P about changing the color of you gear through crafting. I always found it neat that as you got higher ranked the gear went from plain browns and dull colors to brighter and more varied colors. Being able to customize our gear would be awesome although I do agree with the devs that they should focus on more variety of gear types first.
Hopefully we will be able to customize everything down to the trimmings and other small details so we can have everything juuust right.
That's good because there are people out there who:
1. Are colorblind.
2. Hate the color options they have.
3. Had one more reason to hate the crafting system as is.
No one expects the miquote inquisition!!!
That would be very very very nice. With more customization we can have more variety even if many people are wearing the same gear. I know they focus on higher priority stuff but even small things like that can go a long way into making the game fun.
I gotta be honest~ That idea sounds pretty freakin' awesome!! Some peeps in my LS said the same thing yesterday (guess they read this thread). If not sooner or later, I would like to see this gear color changing system added in at some point. I think it's a good idea to allow players more freedom to be what they want and have the ability to have more crafting possibilities.Had a discussion with Yoshi-P about changing the color of you gear through crafting. Thanks for the info Bayohne!![]()
I just want the colouring process to be simplified. it is such a pain to colour items it was hard to find something that wasn't popular.
Recoloring gear shouldn't be part of the crafting process -- it over complicates crafting as a whole. I'd prefer if, after gear is crafted, you can buy dyes and paints and recolor your gear.
Maybe even as part of a mini-game or a function of the repair NPC.
