You sir, are an excellent father.I am a man and I play a female character, not because I like to look at her chesticles, or lookit the skimpies. I play one because my daughter likes to watch me play sometimes. I play a female character to show my daughter that females kick ass, whoop on baddies, and save the world just as well if not better than manly mens. I am glad the game has this girly side to it. My lil one likes to dress her up all pretty and ain't nothin' wrong with that.
Disciple of War, not simply DPS classes, tanks can wear and glamor it just as well as any other DoW class. The sentinel set is limited to tanks. The post you were 'correcting' is actually 100% correct. I should know I wear the steel bikini as a Paladin.
This clearly demonstrates the superior protection of less metal, I mean, look, no scars or anything.
Of course this was before I switched to a sun cat, and got the dye-able version...
Still have to find something decent to wear on the feet that works with the armor though. I'm kind of saddened that the armor is there, but there is no matching footwear, or at least something that works with it, and doesn't obscure the shin guards.
It should be stressed that Kos doesn't *always* dress this way, it's simply a favored option. She also has several "looks" that are much more conventional, and visually protective at least.

It's equippable / glamourable for all DoW classes, but the post referred to it being BiS for a little while (though not very long). That part is true only for DPS classes. It's BiS (when on-level) for DoW DPS. It's equippable, but not very good, for tanks.
It's most certainly not BiS for Tanks at any time, but it does look rather good...
Also, the poster mentioned that it was BiS for an incredibly small period of time for DoW classes, and went on to talk about the Sentinel set for Tanks. I thought it was implicit from that that the DoW meant DPS classes other than tanks since tank armor was specifically mentioned separately.

I understand what you was saying, with it being allowed to be put on by tanks, but i was kinda pointing out that none of the proper tank gear is like that, in fact most of it is "Manly" heavy plate styled Armour. In fact all of the tanking gear is very bulky and Armoured in looks. It's most certainly not BiS for Tanks at any time, but it does look rather good...

Lol, I consider myself a survivor of the great Darklight Trash Can debacle, not to mention the perfectly hideous Noct armor. I agree that the tanky armor is bulky and manly - which is,to be perfectly honest, a problem for me. I dont see why it's impossible to have more feminized versions of the tank gear for female characters, not allof the sets, but some of them at least. Someone will no doubt point out that real armor doesn't look feminine, but the easy and obvious counter to that point is that this is not reality, it's Final Fantasy.I understand what you was saying, with it being allowed to be put on by tanks, but i was kinda pointing out that none of the proper tank gear is like that, in fact most of it is "Manly" heavy plate styled Armour. Um excuse me, the Darklight tank gear was not a trash can.
It was Coke Zero cosplay. :I
Though regarding Noct armor: I'm actually a fan of it, particularly because it's got a versatile helmet deal. The Mistbeard Mask was actually supposed to be the helm for it (going by the art book) so I imagine the whole thing was a tribute to the notorious pirate, making it an Eorzean lore piece. On the flip side, however, the Warrior AF helm looks GREAT with it (see it glamoured on 'em all the time). I'm still pulling for a pot of Jet Black ink from a retainer so I can glamour the set with the WAR i90 helm (the Soot Black doesn't quite work).
That's a tangent, anyway, but it does prove a point relevant to this thread: You can play pretty-princess-dress-up even with the most hulking beefyman armor in the game.![]()
