Is there actually an official Dev response to removing the GC requirement? People keep referencing one but I haven't seen anything specific.

At launch of Heavensward, we will have a new Frontline battle, with a new map and new rules. It will continue to be Grand Company based, but while before each Grand Company would start at a select location and the map, in Heavensward we will see a randomized starting location which will impact play. Armor rewards associated with Frontlines will also be updated. After that point they will update the Wolves Den.

Though grand company based could mean anything, it doesn't have to mean they keeping GC restrictions so much as the names themselves. Then again this feels more like wishful thinking on my part.

Of course there isn't a real answer from them. They continue appeasing the carebears by keeping the GC stuff as is because of 'lore and immersion' instead of listening to the people who actually play the PvP content. They don't give a dog sh*t about us (PvP community). Excuse my tone, I'm just so over this.

I am also praying this is a translation issue. Until now every FL's map have been symetrical. I don't see how the starting position of the entire GC would affect anything at all. Please mean "but while before each player in a Grand Company would start at a select location and the map, in Heavensward we will see a randomized starting location which will impact play"

I'm hoping so as well, but this is all the info thats available to go on at the moment since it seems like the PvP community in this game is a neglected red headed step child. I'm honestly surprized we got this much info.

Saying they're going to keep it is not responding to the concerns, it's not even acknowledging it as an issue which a lot of the community rightfully thinks it is.

Correction, The community you refer to is filled with solo loners, as seen in a lot of previous threads similar to this, not for ppl who have made pvp friends in server and abroad and have no problem finding premade parties within their GC. It's implemented, work with it and stop complaining to change something the Dev's put a lot of time and story behind.

And yes let's all accept any and all kinds of crap devs come up with, that's how've been getting a better game right?! We should've all just accepted 1.0 way back when cause the devs "put a lot of time and story behind".
Because fighting in "civilized warfare"(k then) for a grand company which you can join and leave every 2 weeks(talk about allegiance) is so immersive and well put together. Doesn't matter and is as irrelevant as it gets, know why? PvP doesn't need a big story nor lore.. its PVP.

If you want to discuss something put some actual points against other people's points instead of just "filled with solo loners" kind of crap.

The queues were HORRID tonight. Got a pop we missed as a premade and then nothing for 2 hours.

This is was posted just yesterday. Your 15 minute Q's are an exaggeration. Your pre-made theory goes against my own experience in addition to countless posts. Plus, no one should be expected to wait 30+ minutes for anything just because they chose to solo Q.

Do you even PvP? According to the standings you didn't even do 10 matches last week. Perhaps you should listen instead of talking down to people.

I think our best bet for getting a direct answer here will to be through Reddit. At both of the big US events Yoshi P attended this year, Pax East and Fanfest, the reddit mods were granted an interview and they asked questions from users.

Yoshi P does listen to questions asked directly to him, you might remember the video from London Fanfest of a fan asking about the Spriggan hat that she had done a lot of treasure maps looking to find. He said that because she had done so many maps they would add it as a map reward in a future patch. Likewise, a question about a coil mount led to the ADS mount.

Honestly our best bet here is the next time the reddit mods ask for questions for the next event, we have someone articulately ask the question and we all upvote/comment/make sure it gets a lot of attention.
