I do understand where you’re coming from, but personally i don’t really mind it that much that they don’t do a Live Translation of these Live letters. (Although the panels at the Fan Fest with Soken, Yoshida and Fernehalwes were hilarious (^_~ )-b )
When Yoshida is doing an interview with f.i. an English website/magazine or when he’s holding a Live Letter at the Fan Fest, Pax, etc, he usually has a translator/interpreter available (like Fernehalwes). If they do a Live translation of the Letter, they either need to make the Live Letter twice as long (since Fernehalwes has to translate everything Yoshida says) or cut the content for the Live letter in half in order to have it fit their available broadcast time.
Which would you prefer?
I personally don’t think they want to make the Live Letter twice as long, or cut on it’s content so that the Live Letter can be translated on the spot.
The way they are doing it is fine (in my opinion), but like you said at the end, i would like to see the Q&A Summary to be released sooner. Maybe a few days after the Live Letter, rather than a few weeks after the broadcast. I would also like to see the regular Letters of the Producer again, which they released at least once a month.
However, it might not be an full transcript of the Letter of the Producer Live, but our friendly neighbourhood Community Reps do give a translated Q&A of each letter while the Live Letter is being broadcasted as well as a Q&A Summary later on (in multiple languages).
You can find them here:
Letter from the Producer LIVE
Community Events > Past Events
At least that’s something, right?
For me, the main reason why i still watch the Live Letters is that i get to see the Presentation Slides (in 2 languages), see concept art, in-game images and video’s like “Tour of the North”, the introduction of the Au Ra and the new Jobs.
For everything else, i’ll read through the Q&A and wait for the “full transcript” they release at a later date.
