Should I Work on Zodiac: Yay or Nay?

And I think that's what's important to me. I just want to be comfortable in my role, and not feel like I'm a hindrance due to my weapon. Is the ST weapon good enough for me to use when I begin trying to clear the EX Primals? I really don't want to try stepping into the more difficult realm of Coil until I can at least clear all the EX Primals lol.

I have been using the ilvl100 Zodiac weapon for feels like forever because I found the Zodiac Books mind numbingly tedious but even with that I have had no problems doing some EX trials or some coils, clearing all the dungeons and completing the tower Lab/ST/WoD. I could probably handle second coils too without much problem if I could be bothered to try.

So there is not a huge need to upgrade much to take part in most end game content. Final coils is probably the only place I would feel the need to upgrade it from it's current ilvl100 stage but I have little to no interest in that personally. The only reason I am going to complete the relic > zeta once is for the sake of doing it once for my benefit not because of the possibility being locked out of end game content (final coil) if don't. I do not think you need to go up to zeta in order to take part or complete all current end game content for example, in fact I know you don't and it is the same with ST gear which is also ilvl100.

I am on Animus which is a Zodiac stage weapon not a Relic stage weapon, Relic stages are Relic and Zenith, Zodiac is from Atma to Zeta. But the important part was that it is still ilvl100 though, not what I call it.

Atma is ilvl100, but it has the stats of an ilvl 90 weapon iirc. I'd really not recommend anyone stick with that for so long.

I tend to average around 300-350 DPS in runs using it, so its fine. I wouldn't try doing final coil with it but I have had no major problems so far in the EX trials I have tried (granted I have only done a few so far) which is what the other person was asking about (EX trials etc with ilvl100 gear).

To answer OP: no. Ain't worth the time and the potential zombification you may suffer (potentially more times than just once) while doing it. And the gil wasted on it.

Go by what you think because our friend here can be dead wrong and completing a 2.0 relic will probably give your new relic bonus stats. Also, he can be right. You can potentionally waste your gil and the so called benefit that the relic will give for 3.0 will be useless.

I'm working to get Sasuke's Blades myself but tbh, Batliege Soto have better glowing effect than the Zeta and I planned to glamour my zeta when I get it.

Animus is an upgraded Relic on the way to a Zodiac, but not already a Zodiac

Take we the MNK weapon as an example:
Sphairai (ilevel80) - Sphairai Nexus (ilevel115) = Relic

Then Gerolt create a new weapon, you turn your Relic into a materia (Relic get destroyed) and Gerolt put the materia into the new weapon

Kaiser Knuckles (ilevel125) - Kaiser Knuckles Zeta (ilevel135) = Zodiac

I don't want to make the same mistake twice, and would really like to play my NIN to the best of my abilities.

Might as well get Dread or Zeta then...but you know, if you only did those, you're just overleveling yourself.
I would really suggest to do ST and run Ilvl 110 for a while then try and do the NIN relic...if you get bored, you get bored.
We can't really tell you what to do, so it's up to you.

I personally stopped at Atma and never looked back, just running ilvl 110 from ST and a BRD crafted weapon ilvl 110.
I had more fun in ST and I've been healing everything fine up to T8. Not sure how badly a new wep is needed afterward.
I'm gearing to 130 though. Then again, I don't give a damn about BiS it's about how much fun I'm having.

For all intents and purpose, you start 'the legend of the zodiac Braves' AFTER zenith. I see why he is confused by the name. But yea, every weapon from 80-115 is a Relic 'zenith/Atma/animus/no us/nexus'

It's only at 125 it becomes a Zodiac.
