Should I Work on Zodiac: Yay or Nay?

Well I guess it really depends on how much time you have on your hands... I've gotten half the light I need so far in about a week.

Though honestly the alexandrite grind almost killed me. I never, ever, ever want to do that again. This light grind in comparison is like a breath of fresh air.

Slightly off topic here: if you don't mind me asking, what method are you using to gather light? Almost done with the Alex stage and getting my nexus done in 1-2 weeks sounds great.

@OP, I think it's worth it just to have the relic before it's too late to obtain it as easily as now (I'd imagine you'd have a hard time running old content for the 2.x relic if you decide to do it later, but I'm not sure). I personally love the look of the Sasuke's Blades Zeta so I'll be getting it for the glamour.

It would be interesting to know what they plan to do with the current endgame contents. Are we all to loose all the "roulette" category because there is no more "expert mode dungeon" fresh at 60? What are they planning to do with the current endgame dungeons? Will these be the new "xp dungeons"? And is it pointless to make these relic if 3.0 just give everyone a fresh start and pretty much toss all your hard works in 2.0...

I use the online light trackers to farm primals when they get onto bright status (that's 8 light/run). I just queue up right after I'm done.
Also each run of WOD and ST gives at least 16 normally, 32 when on a bonus, so that helps too.
To be fair I have a lot of free time right now so I can do this for hours... (in between I've been doing the maps for the event, so I'm stocking up on those cherry trees, too...haha)

One of them is usually correct.

I am doing it one time before expansion hits just because do not know what the reward will be in terms of SE saying there would be one for completing it prior to new version of the relics coming out. Probably just a title or minion or something but since so much time between now and then I might as well at least do it once.

Ok, so if I understand right, if I go the Soldiery route, then all I need are 1,300 (which sounds MUCH better than 13,000 :P) Soldiery, and an unidentified tomestone that I can farm from ST.

So then my question would be, is the Soldiery weapon a decent substitute for the Zodiac Weapon? Would I be able to break into some meaty end game content with it and not feel like I'm falling behind DPS wise? Or should it be a stepping stone in route to another weapon?

Sorry for so many questions! Just really wanting to try and get on the right track!

Back when atmas first came out, alot of people abandoned their relic and the quest due to RNG drop rate for atmas in favor of the allagan. It's not the best weapon now, obviously, or even cutting edge so I'd doubt you';d be able to get into hardcore groups with it easily... but technically, the weapon should be good enough for you to be competitive enough to clear all current endgame content in a more relaxed environment where people won't glare at your weapon.

Going into the xpack, you don't need the best of the best, so the ST weapon should be good enough to make you comfortable until you replace it.

Only pursue the relic for the achievement, I think...not for BiS because the time you'll get it, the xpack will be out.

And I think that's what's important to me. I just want to be comfortable in my role, and not feel like I'm a hindrance due to my weapon. Is the ST weapon good enough for me to use when I begin trying to clear the EX Primals? I really don't want to try stepping into the more difficult realm of Coil until I can at least clear all the EX Primals lol.

ABSOLUTELY! The ST weapon will be fine for all current content; it just might not be -the best-.
